When it comes to Indiegala it seems most of the issues are due to the devs or publishers and not actually IG.
For example IG sometimes gets caught up in stuff because the dev and publisher has an issue with another store so they revoke keys and some of the keys in the batch that were revoked were also distributed to IG.
Here's an article on Techraptor from the beginning of this year that talks about things.
https://techraptor.net/content/steamwatch-the-steam-key-revoking-system-is-a-problem

Bear in mind these are almost entirely unused keys getting invalidated in most cases, not keys that have already been activated.
I used to buy lots of bundles, and have only had one instance of an actual game revocation from my account (can't recall what, but it was a crappy game, like most of these games tend to be).
So, as FateOfOne said, The bundle site gets the blame for it, even though they can't control these things - key revocations often happen months, in some cases years, after a bundle ends.
But I can't reiterate enough, these are almost always shitty games we'd never play. I don't have pity for those people still trapped in the cycle of buying all the bundles though :-)
Comment has been collapsed.
Personally I don't blame IG for the key revocations, but I do blame them for poor customer service when it happens.
They should, at the very least, make an attempt to contact the dev/publisher to obtain replacement keys and an explanation. There isn't really any excuse for IG not doing this - firing off an email or picking up the phone costs almost nothing, and looks much better PR-wise than fobbing off their customers.

An unused key is still a PAID key. So there should be absolutely no reason to revoke these. I must be able to redeem them whenever i want, or give them to whoever i see fit even years after purchase.
This is bullshit from these filthy publishers and should be boycotted if they pull such stunt.
My list is growing with those.

An unused key is still a PAID key.
That wasn't what I was talking about.
In any case, if you aren't redeeming the keys, it's cos you have no intention of playing the games.
The majority of people who complain about this happening are people who are trying to trade them off to other people.
Most sites have a clause that states it's for your own personal Steam account, and some go as far as to say you should be redeeming them as soon as possible.
Due to Steam allowing the revocation of keys, this can potentially happen to ANY game.
Comment has been collapsed.
Considering number of repeats in bundles, there are high chances to get from bundle some spare games, which you already own. What is person supposed to do with such keys? Personally, sometimes I buy bundle just for 1-2 game. Sometimes I buy bundle solely for trades, but that's another story.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not necessarily. I've gifted games to people on my friends list very long after I actually acquired the keys. People discover things on their own terms and in their own due time, and tastes (and wishlists) change and evolve. Your own may as well. Maybe something that didn't appeal to you much previously will later. Sometimes you might be on the fence about whether to keep certain games or not. Everything is not so black & white as you may be suggesting. Anyway I see nothing wrong with trading games and exchanging your extras for other people's extras. And when I say that I mean trading, not selling on the gray market to make a profit. They are two quite different things. And they are right that an unused key is still a product that was paid for. As long as you aren't outright selling it you should be able to do whatever you want with it, whether that's gifting it to someone, giving it away, or letting it sit unredeemed for an indefinite amount of time, those draconian clauses be damned.

Most of my comment was actually a dig at iGnome.... no-one gets to 8K games without a bit of extraneous bundle buying and trading ;-)
It wasn't a dig at the rest of the people who genuinely forget to redeem or use the keys from a bundle for whatever reason or purpose they wish. I'm in the minority because I generally either activate what I want or giveaway my keys on SteamGifts within a couple of weeks.
And just for clarification, I'm not against trading (I do it sometimes), but I'm on Steamgifts to give.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh okay, fair enough. Yeah 8000+ games is quite a lot and would seem to mean lots of extraneous acquisitions and spending. Personally I don't acquire anything without at least the intention of it being something that I would be interested in playing. Generally speaking I also don't buy a bundle unless I'm genuinely interested in at least 3 of the games included. Just kind of a rule I set for myself to keep from getting too frivolous.

Confirming this report, I tried 5 keys of Christmas Race from GoGo Mega 18 and all were dupes
Christmas Race 2 from GoGo Mega 20 is NOT dupe at this time (the first key I tried, anyway) -- but I would suggest using those keys ASAP in case the GoGo keys are invalidated or used in a mass giveaway in the future.

I don't know if my post is revelant.
But i got a key revoked from Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet on Orlygift giveaway last year, about six months i recieved the revoke message, maybe microsoft was revoked them.

Steam keys for Inexistence from at least the Indie Gala "Indispensable" Bundle have been revoked too.

Lilly, just checked for those DIG keys and only have "Space Mission Space Travel" key left. but only thing i know is that keys are very old and not from bundles, bought those from the Store (so we can't know if key is from one bundle or the other, or from elsewhere. also, i usually keep that info for all DIG keys -from bundles, store, marketplace...-), if you still need a "check" just say it and we'll do that!
came here for a bump, tho
(if you're creating a giveaway, a this-thread-check might be a gooood idea -hit Ctrl+F and search for game name-)
edit: LOL i keep repeating this hit ctrl f thing :D

This search key (slash) is used by many old Unix programs from history, and old web browsers like Lynx. There are some Chrome add-ons to enable slash-to-search there, too.
At home on my PC I have Chrome, Firefox, and Firefox developer edition.
On my phone (Android) I have Chrome, Firefox, Firefox Focus, DuckDuckGo, and Kiwi Browser (it is like Chrome with add-ons support)

i think we were both kinda wrong, Ctrl+F could be useless (it depends on which page you're searching):

Uh oh! All unused non-beta keys for Furry Girl 🐺 were deactivated by Valve. It was given away on giveaway.su multiple times and sold directly by the developer.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not surprising after the dev was posting on steam the link to their web store selling the keys for the banned game.
Honestly I'm surprised Valve doesn't nullify the unused keys for all banned games. Some of them keep showing up repeatedly on giveaway sites forever afterward.

Guess one of the ones I won here was not on the list as mine is still in my library and have not yet gotten the revocation message.

Go Go Bundle Mega #20 - all my keys for SnakEscape are dupes now
edit: DLC is not duped, only the base game.
I could not try the DLC keys, steam is blocking me for too many failed activations at the moment. Will try them in an hour if nobody else tries before that.

Can anyone else confirm?

The Extinction from IndieGala - The Indie Break Off Bundle was a dupe when i tried to redeem recently

I can confirm that the keys from IndieGala Hump Day "MEGA" Bundle #17 and IndieGala - The Indie Break Off Bundle don't work.
I don't know about Fanatical though.

I just tested a a key from Fanatical's Blazing Bundle, it should come as no surprise that this also did not work.
The game's been in early access for 4 years now and the dev hasnt posted since 2017 so it's fairly safe to say it's abandoned and there will be no replacement keys given..

My key from the Groupees Shoppaholic 3 and Knuckles bundle is a dupe, tried it just now.

why were furry girl keys revoked? is it against rules if a developer decides to give keys away?

Odd, I still have the one I won here in my library..

They are not revoked. The sub is disabled by Valve after the developer advertised in the annoucement that they are still selling keys, which makes all unredeemed (or even redeemed) keys show up as invalid. Thi only affects activation, and not the validity of the license, so if you have the game in your library already, it's still playable

I think RewindApp has revoked all unused keys from Go Go Bundle Mega #11 and #18. I tried:
Go Go Bundle Mega #11
Operation Desert Road
Golf 2D
Space Way
Gravity Ball
Brick Breaker Ultimate
Christmas Race
Go Go Bundle Mega #18
Operation Desert Road
Golf 2D
Space Way
Gravity Ball
Brick Breaker Ultimate
Christmas Race
Space Rocket
Bitcoin Farm
Race
Solar System
Hammer 2
and all were dupe. Not sure about their other games in other Go Go bundles, they had a lot.

I am activating keys of bundles that I already had in my main account in one of my secondary accounts and as I comment all those bones I get duped, I am activating keys little by little I will surely find more cases, but I see that they are notified I will comment on it here since I know that they are keys that never activate, is it worth contacting the developer? Any way to find the developer's profile or email to inform him by email or steam in case he gives any explanation or solution?
Comment has been collapsed.
is it worth contacting the developer?
It's a hit or miss situation, some devs will give replacement keys but a lot will not, however if you have the time you might as well try.
Any way to find the developer's profile or email
The best way is to check the games Steam page, sometimes there will be a link that says "Visit the website" or some other contact information in the right hand column (it's under where the Languages and Steam Achievements sections normally are).
If there's no information there I can only suggest checking out the Steam forums for each game to see if someone posted the devs contact details, else try a google search of their name.
So here are the contact details I found for the games you mentioned, as well as how I found them:
Robot Warriors - I had to do a google search using the developer name (Fabio Cunha) to find this one, which linked me to an article that said the devs contact email is fabiobh@hotmail.com.br
NeoBalls2 - I couldn't find any contact details for BJGameInd but the Steam user account ☠ßeetleJuice is marked as the developer on the NeoBalls2 forum.
Burning Instinct - The store page says https://twitter.com/theM9 is the developers twitter account in the contact info section.

First of all thanks for the information, I have taken the time to contact these people, in the case of robot warriors he gave me a replacement key.
In the case of neoballs2 I added it, he told me that it was not his problem and he also insulted me, which already allows me to understand the kind of miserable he is.
burning instinct I wrote to him on twitter but I didn't get any response from him.
I hope this information serves in the thread and if I see anything about other keys I will share it here, greetings.

Nice to hear you got one good answer at least but yeah that doesn't surprise me that you got a rude reply from NeoBalls2 dev, a lot of these small self publishing devs have no social skills and think they can revoke products for any reason they want because "it's my game I made it so I can do as I please!".
I found this out while looking for some other devs contact details, it looks like sometimes you can find contact information in the game support section of the Steam support database.
Normally to get to the game support section you have to own the game as the way to get there is clicking "Gameplay or technical issue" (which only shows up as an option when you own the game) then "I am having another problem" and "Contact Game Support".
I've found if you just add the store ID number at the end of this link:
https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue?appid=
it will take you to the contact details page for any game right away.
So in the case for NeoBalls2 you would add 786560 to the end of the above link, which would then look like this:
https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue?appid=786560
and you will see that the Official Support Email is bjgameind@gmail.com
By the sounds of it the NeoBalls2 dev wont care anyway, but if you want to try going through "official" channels and see if you get a different reply the option is there.
PS: Burning Instinct email is the.merlin.99@gmail.com if you want to try that instead of twitter.

I noticed this thread in the Gnomes Garden forum (re the revoked 8floor bundle keys)
https://steamcommunity.com/app/415830/discussions/0/1743356517517243951/
The developer recently made a post insisting it's not their fault that the keys were revoked and it's an issue with Groupees/IndieGala (aka they're trying to shift the blame), and that we have to get a refund through the bundle sites instead.
I've emailed both IG and Groupees with this information, I doubt there is anything that they can do as they are not responsible for the actions of shady devs, but I will update with their responses.

IndieGala have washed their hands of the matter:
As specified in our terms and conditions, every customer that purchases a digital product on our store which requires activation on a third party platform (e.g. Steam activation keys), is required to activate the purchased activation codes within 60 days from the purchase. If 60 days have passed since the purchase of the activation codes and the customer has difficulties in activating the codes, we cannot guarantee replacement of the codes or any other solution.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide a solution.
Disappointing stock standard response but not unexpected.

Response from Groupees:
Hi. We have been providing replacement keys in the form of new grab bags. Unfortunately, we have requested new keys from 8Floor various times with no success, so this is the best solution we have come to.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before but there you go, just send Groupees support a ticket saying your 8Floor bundle keys dont work and how many bundles you have in your account. It's not much as you'll only get one random key per bundle, but hey it's better than nothing and maybe you'll get something really awesome.
Added note: Even though IDKFA provided a list of what keys would and wouldn't work I still decided to try all the keys they reported as not working and my Contract with the devil keys from Groupees do work (all the other games that IDKFA listed as revoked I can confirm yes were revoked), so it might still be worthwhile checking all your keys just in case.

BORIS the Mutant Bear with a Gun
Indiegala Monday Motivation 56 bundle
The developer probably resold or revoke unused keys. No official confirmation.
My key was duplicate and now my only not delivered game on steamgifts (dev might be resold and so I not wanted to support him with money on steam and the winner wasn't the usual nice one whose usually accept giveaway deletion in these cases [I myself also agree the deletion if such cases happen])
One of my groupbuy subscriber gave me his key so I can honor that giveaway, that key was duplicate too.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/879060/discussions/0/1640919737476548487/
In this topic, one more player confirmed his/her key became duplicate.
Edit: I blame "developers" who can't get new keys for their profile limited games from steam because of bad steam sales so they reselling unused keys and not Indiegala.

I came across this thread, and I went thru my past support tickets of deleted GAs. Here are some of the games you may update into your list.

Some more info to add to these reports:
Fasaria was discussed a bit here https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/7r4aqY3 either shakti didn't notice it or felt it wasn't worth updating since basically the same game was released and revoked multiple times under different names.
Age of Steel dev is going with the whole "the keys must have been stolen and anyway it was years ago so I dont care" excuse. I really doubt that, I find it highly unlikely that all the keys for one game from a bundle all got stolen yet every other game in that bundle is still fine, it's much more likely they were revoked. In any case, they aren't going to help.
In regards to key status, for now it seems it's just IndieGala keys that dont work. Groupees keys are reported as working and I can confirm that DailyIndieGame keys still work. Can't say if Otaku/GoGo bundle keys work or not though.
I'm not sure if unrevealed keys for Days Under Custody were automatically replaced but revealed ones were not and you had to contact IndieGala support for replacements.
The deactivated keys were never reactivated but I can confirm the replacement keys do still work.
Comment has been collapsed.
I hoard hundreds of past bundles that I never reveal the keys immediately when I buy.
Usually Indie Gala is the one having the most issues with keys, and I have dealt with them way too many times to care now.
More than half of the time they just say something along the lines of "Sorry that your key didn't work. We tell customers to always activate their keys within 30 days of purchase, so we can't do anything for you right now".
So far, I have emailed their support more than 10 keys now. Only twice they gave me a replacement key. The other times, either they can't do shit, or they simply give me one of their current bundle for free "as a goodwill for appreciating a loyal customer".
I am not their loyal customer anymore.
Now, when my GA winner tells me the key is invalid, I will try to find another key from another bundle if the game happens to be in another bundle, or I will just delete the GA and whitelist the winner for allowing me to delete.

Lists to use:
Unused Keys Revoked: https://barter.vg/notices/513
Revoked (Dev): https://barter.vg/notices/362
Revoked (DMCA): https://barter.vg/notices/361
Duplicates: https://barter.vg/notices/372
If you want this information for one game specifically, you can find it under the "Notices" section for the Barter entry of that game.
(Example: https://barter.vg/i/42708/ then scroll down to "Notices": you'll see the red notice "Revoked (Dev) ⌫"; mouseovering it will give you some more info)
Thanks to everyone who reported their key revocations here. Please continue reporting them here. You folks are awesome!
Due to character limit, time constraints and having to manually create the chart rows, it's very difficult to keep a list on revocations on SteamGifts. Since I am the one managing these notices on Barter anyway, I thought it would be convenient to centralize the reports from SteamGifts and trade offers into one place and Barter proved to be a good solution for that because of its bundles and game database.
The below lists will not be updated on SG any more, but all your reports will be reflected on Barter, so please continue reporting them.
Previous links, for reference:
A list of games completely revoked from your library after activation
A list of games whose unredeemed keys were revoked (the big chart that was previously in this thread was moved here)
