So, it's time for another birthday thread. I'm cheap and lazy, so there will be no groups, puzzles, nominations, whitelists, etc... I just picked one or two nice games and then told the RNG to fill the list of games up to 33 with keys from my left over list.

According to my timezone, my birthday will begin in roughly 5 hours and end in roughly 29 hours. That's also the timeframe for the GAs. They are almost all level 1, except for one where I forgot to set a level and one where I picked level 3 cause that one cost me more then the others :P

There are two SGtools checks in there, hope that'll be okay for most guests...

Trainstation as SGtools

Now that this GA stuff is out of the way, let's have some birthday talk: This year there probably won't be any "proper" celebration for me. I haven't invited around any friends, cause that's not my kinda tea really, and my family is not that big and it's also during the week so everyone has to work... Currently it looks like my parents might pop around for a bit, not sure about my sister or some random friends, but that's not the way we usually do it... We'll see... But then again, the older you get, the less interesting birthdays get, I guess... And for those asking themselves how old I'm getting, the GA number is not random ;-)

Okay, first the positive note: 31 keys/links have been sent and should now be visible on http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/won and one game was sent on steam. So far so good.

Now to the negative part. Someone seemed to have leaked some of the links, cause there were illegal entries. (At least) one person that could have gotten the link normally did not do so according to sgtools, which is slightly annoying, but AT LEAST 3 people bypassed the sgtoolscheck and they had crappy ratios... and one of them actually won one of my GAs... I wonder what their line of thinking was... sure, I'll probably be to lazy to recheck the ratio for every entry, so illegally entering might work out, but even just eyeballing the profile shows the crappy ratio and that's the least I'll do with the winners...

For starters, I'm not one of the winners, but I can guess that the change in ratio could be due to the bug on developer bundles rising the CV of peoples that gave them away. It happened to me till yesterday with the Daedalic bundle, so "maybe" someone that managed to get past the check during the bundle duration has now returned to its real ratio and sgtools is marking it as illegal entry.

Well, that might influence it, but in this case... Nah... for one thing I can SEE they didn't use the tool, for another the extreme was a person that had only created one cheap GA so that one was easy to check

How do you know 3 people bypassed sgtools and not just gotten the link from someone else? Do sgtools show you how many unique entries were there?

"just gotten the link from someone else" is what I call "bypassed sgtools"... cause someone else gave you a link to a private GA that you had not earned, which is the definition of leaking a GA... And I know cause there is an option that check people that entered a GA vs people that requested the link from sgtools

Oh.

cause someone else gave you a link to a private GA that you had not earned

I hope by you you don't mean me, because I entered properly.

Oh, sorry, no, that was the general "you"... did not even think about the fact that it might sound like I meant you :)

First off, a belated birthday greeting from me, sorry for missing it.

Second: from what little I know of you, your 'requirements' are very reasonable, it's not like you're demanding a (ratio > 2), so why even bypass that... Even if someone passes (actually: leaks) you a link, having the decency not to join would be a requirement, of sorts. Too bad you can't find out who actually leaked it though :(
