I wouldn't say the sale is terrible though the community choice stuff..... it could be much better as for every one choice between Luftrausers and Mercenary kings, we get 3-5 bunches of software few care about. That's the only real problem I see with the sale.

Best thing of this sale is by far the new wishlist, though I haven't checked out the rest yet ;>... but finally I'm able to check for the stuff that has a discount directly on Steam, without having to resort to any third party website. Took them long enough to implement that.

Honestly, this sale is as good if not better than the ones they've had recently.

I keep reading how this sale is terrible, I've seen countless threads about how the sale is really bad and that Steam are being completely out of touch with its userbase.
Allow me to make a rebuttal to all those threads in on handy bitesized thread. I'll list the arguments below and give my own personal opinions on them.
First of all, this is absolute garbage. There has been plenty of 75% and upward sales, I personally deem that a "good" sale. Shadow Warrior for example is currently 90% off making a £30 game £3. As for the sale items not being good enough, I think the problem there lives within the user themselves. When you think back to the "glory" days of the sale around 2-3 years ago, ask yourself how many games you owned. How many games had been bundled? That Skyrim for £4.99 was amazing back then. That Skyrim for £2.50 is STILL amazing you just own it now. Sale items are subjective to the person buying them. You happen to own 99% of the catalogue now, just because you own the game that has a good discount, it does not mean its no longer a good discount.
First of all, why should they. Secondly, yes there are. Has everyone already forgotten about the auction already? The thing where steam gave away hundreds of thousands of games? How was that not an event? Christmas cards are also being given out during community choice(which is also an event btw) and during purchase so you can craft a badge. Putting this here as a hidden GA to see if people actually read it and reward the non-tldr people, ga hidden in this sentence. Add to that an ENTIRE NEW GEM SYSTEM and I'd say they've given you quite a lot to play with this year. Either your inventories are empty of the crap you don't want or full of cards you made from booster packs. Yes steam make money from the re-invigorated community market, but so do you. Are people actually complaining that they've been given a way to get MORE cards and make MORE money from the NEW system put in place during this sale, simply because Steam takes a cut(like they always have)? If I was to give you £10 but told you I was taking £1 as a fee, you've not lost £1, you've gained £9. I think people lose perspective with this.
Ties into number one, but the most simple to explain. It's day what? 4 of the sale? And you are comparing it to a full 2 week sale. Get a grip.
