Not sure if this has been already suggested, so disregard if that's the case.
Have you given any thought to implementing a similar feature, but for individual user accounts? basically, an ignore list fading posts in discussions and the comment sections of gibs.

I'd be pretty happy myself with basically being able to fade any comment from any ignored user regardless of the thread. I could live with threads the ignored user start not being automatically faded in the discussions listing.
Also, thanks.

Does this hide entire threads made by "naughty" users, as well as comments?

This script becomes more and more advanced.
Very very nice, and thanks for your hard work.
You should change the title though. It is not just for mark thread as read.
And SG Add-ons registry thread only describes this script as "Adds a button that lets you mark the threads as read".

thanks for the script! I've been using it for a while but now sorting threads by creation date seems to be broken for me? I don't have that "arrow" to press anymore, just usual "Page 1" there. also red fire and red pencil near comments are gone :c

05:35 - Archi: cg changed giveaway dates format
05:35 - Archi: now it's span data-timestamp
05:36 - Archi: instead of text that should be parsed to string
05:36 - Archi: it's unix timestamp
05:36 - Archi: (...) but archibot can now work with better precision as unix timestamp includes seconds
05:36 - Archi: previously everything was :00
05:36 - Archi: you'll probably get shitload of errors until you fix things
05:37 - Archi: like missing/broken dates

Nope, but I notify KnSYS whenever ArchiBoT falls into "SHOULD NEVER FUC*ING HAPPEN" case and starts spamming me to move my lazy ass and take actual look. We cooperate heavily because we also integrate with major part of the website.
And I mean it
In fact, I'm happy that my safety ifs being put after each action working with unreliable data finally had their use :3.
