Umm, yes but a bit in the grey imo. So long as the giveaway itself has no strings attached it's fine. He was probably just using the g/a to promote his trade thread (also fine) but the whitelisting part is a bit off putting. Don't think it is technically against the rules, but is it really worth it buying your way onto a whitelist?

Would be nice to get someone from Support to chime in on this if possible :D.

I have to admit I got a problem with his wording. Using "give" when you want cards and whatnot for a copy of the game is just facepalm-inducing... because I do think he said that just because we're not supposed to trade on this side of Steamgifts. But anyway, yeah, that whitelist part is what kinda set me off. He puts the same thing in every GA he creates (although the whitelist thingy is relatively new). rolls eyes

The most effective way to make less people join a giveaway. Make it look like a trade.
you really fooled me out of this one. I though it just a random guy who posted in a wrong section and the mods will just remove it or move it to the proper place and this happened so I just ignore it and it look like it is actually a giveaway.
