The KKK was/is a white supremacist group that was formed after the american civil war, who were pretty notorious for going around lynching black people for whatever reason they could find (eg - he looked at a white woman, kill him!) These days it's more of a joke than anything else since they've lost tons of members and everyone views them as backwards hillbillies, but it's sad that a lot of people still agree with their views

This surge has been fueled by anger and fear over the nation’s ailing economy, an influx of non-white immigrants, and the diminishing white majority, as symbolized by the election of the nation’s first African-American president.
These factors also are feeding a powerful resurgence of the antigovernment “Patriot” movement, which in the 1990s led to a string of domestic terrorist plots, including the Oklahoma City bombing. The number of Patriot groups, including armed militias, skyrocketed following the election of President Obama in 2008 – rising 813 percent, from 149 groups in 2008 to an all-time high of 1,360 in 2012. The number fell to 874 in 2014."

Yeah, you're totally right, I should've been a bit clearer. The KKK itself seems to be on the decline, but like you said there are a ton of other groups popping up everywhere talking about 'retaking OUR country' and shit like that. It's absurd. I'm lucky living in a place like Seattle, but just across state lines in Idaho, there are apparently alot of these patriot groups setting up their own communities and it's a bit disconcerting...

While being able to look humorously at terrible things is a great ability to have, certain jokes should not be made. This is among them since while this might just be a joke to you it still promotes hate towards different people. What KKK did to people (and not only to black people, but to people who dared to protect them) is no laughing matter.
If you have any sense this group should be disbanded. Either way it will be eventually banned so you can just save the mods just some time by doing it yourself.

I can see the KKK represented in comedy shows and movies and might find it funny, but to ask people to join a group with this name and symbolism just to enter GAs... that's kind of sick in my opinion.
Make a group sticky or something stating it's just a joke at least, racist organizations should not be tolerated nowadays and you're mirroring one of them.
