Dota 2 will always be better because its on steam and this is a STEAM FORUM

League makes you buy characters, dota gives you them all from the start.

and this is why dota 2 has no point of playing imo...in such games like MOBA and MMORGP's I play them to get all of the best gear or champions...and dota 2 gives you all for free which just is not challenging :/ and yeah such thread in a steam forum is quite unfair to LoL

It's a competitive tournament style game. When you don't get the best items from the start, you tend to not do as well as you can. Having to buy items gives the players who have them an advantage. There are people who do like to play to unlock, but you can also just random a hero in Dota to play something fresh all the time because there are like 120 heroes or so.

Those League of Lemons players are playing a semi-pay to win. And yes, a steam forum will be biased towards games that aren't steam and Valve owned.

Dota 2. People there are a bit friendlier, and you get all the heroes unlocked all the time. Pro scene seems to be better too. It's a bit harder to learn though, but I actually enjoyed that. I quit it a while back because it took too much time for my taste, but if you've got enough free time, give it a go!

I personally prefer LOL because it was easier for me to pick up as a person completely new to MOBAs. I tried DOTA 2, but I didn't really like it.

I can't comment on LoL, never played it, don't think I ever will. Not saying it's bad or anything, but barely anyone I know plays it (in stark contrast to the internet, where most people seem to only play LoL).

Any opinion I give will be biased towards Dota 2...
