There are lots of them out there, which I think is really cool. I'm learning about more of them through this thread. :)

I am actually embarrassed about my backlog, but hopefully some day I will find time to beat them. Chipping away slowly.

EDIT: LOL! I just tried howlongto beat. And I got... 507 Days 2 Hours

507 days? Better get started.

That is it for 800 games...lol

I have almost 2,000 hours total played across all games...also tells me some games could not be found, argh

Though i wish i knew how much of that was spent idling ...or AFK

Your remaining amount of consecutive main playtime would be 4 months, 1 week, 3 days and 20 hours (75.11%).
Your remaining amount of consecutive extras playtime would be 7 months, 2 weeks, 4 days and 9 hours (80.61%).
Your remaining amount of consecutive completionist playtime would be 1 year, 2 months, 2 weeks, 1 day and 16 hours (87.26%)

Also that is for steam only, does not count Uplay or DRM Free and so on.

Alright i think this should have been regulated to Steam...

As if you want to count outside of that my backlog is a mess..

On Steam though i have almost 500 games and 17% completion rate you do the math....Granted not all my games have chevos so that # may be skewed a bit but i also have a lot of games without them that i have not even played.I just have to many games and not enough time to always play some of them i am slowly working on that and even at times forcing myself to play some games just to get to my back log.Though some i have avoided because i know most likely i i will play them beat them once and may never touch it again,so i avoid it so i always feel like i have something to play lol.

Actually the completion rate only counts for achievements (not playtime or game progress, neither played or not) , and only at started games with achievements :D 1/1 achievement = 100%, 20/30 = 66%, and averages these games :)

That would be why i said....
.Granted not all my games have chevos so that # may be skewed a bit but that why i said # meaning number as in number of games completed would be skewed because of it.

So i did say that is not 100% true due to it only using games with chevos...i just did not get into the fine details of it,but thanks for reminding me of what i already knew...

It just that if you look at someone profile it says say 75% good chance they most likely beat a lot of there games vs 20% or less good chance most have not been beat it meant as an idea..after all if they have not even beat most games with chevos chances are ones without are not much better.

Just did a count of games i have not played and it is 267 that is not including ones i have payed a bit of but not even beat...you add those and i know it well above 300 that have not even bean beat half way let alone completed.

Now you factor in ones i have beat it is not even 50 out of my almost 500 games lol,in fact most i have played have chevos so yeah i would say safe bet most steam games i have not beat just based on 17% rate

"backlog" is such an unhealthy way to think of it.

I prefer to refer to my vast collection of games as a mountain of treasure that is to be savored as desire and time permits. Third-party cataloging and organization tools/software helps a lot, too in maintaining control over ones collection.

I'm currently using a homegrown database solution based on mysql which I may make public at some point, but I'm currently involved in some other projects and can't devote my time to fully developing it into something that can be shared at the moment. As far as what is currently available, it depends I think on each person in terms of what they really want out of their cataloging software, each has its strengths and weaknesses.

A few that I have come across:

Online/browser-based:

Offline/client-based (some have launcher capabilities and are fairly extensible):

I have a bunch of smaller/bundled games (~200?) I'm not gonna list but some of the bigger ones I should've already played by now:

Alice: Madness Returns
Borderlands
Dark Souls (high on list)
Dishonored
Dungeons of Dredmor
Fallout: New Vegas
Guacamelee!
Hack 'n' Slash
Jazzpunk
The Long Dark
Psychonauts
Saints Row 2/3/4
Sid Meier's Civ III
Spelunky
Tomb Raider 1/2/3/Legend
Two Brothers
Undertale (another high on list)

Well, luckily I keep my games in my steam library cataloged by Started (115), F2P (27), Prototypes (10), Finished (43) and Uncategorized (1487).
Uncategorized includes everything I have yet to play, so as you might imagine I'm not going to post a 1487 games long list here. And that's just steam, if you count other platforms I should add around 200 more.

Uh.

Uh...

I don't think I'm allowed to post enough characters for my backlog.

Since I usually don't "finish" games (there are very few I finish and say "I'm good with this game forever", though there are quite a few I know I'm never going to play again because I didn't care for them) most of my library would count as backlog. Both Undertale and Fallout 4 I have saves sitting right before the end (I know because I went to talk to people in Undertale because why not and in FO4 I'm just guessing that the next dialogue option will END THE GAME based on the, you know, context). Heck, even the game I have been playing the most recently, with over 600 hours on steam (and more before that), Dungeons and Dragons Online, is technically backlog because I haven't even touched a raid in the... what, eight years I've been playing it?

I feel old.

Backlog.

I play way too many games that don't actually have an end, so think I can list them here too?

  • Borderlands 2
  • Dead Island
  • Dead Island Riptide
  • Dying Light (want max level)
  • Fairy Bloom Freesia
  • Portal 2
  • Postal 2
  • Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth1
  • Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth2
  • Killing Floor
  • Killing Floor 2
  • Chivalry
  • Payday 2
  • Several visual novels (Go! Go! Nippon!, Hatoful Boyfriend, Higurashi Ch.1, Train of Afterlife, Bermuda)
  • Battleblock Theatre
  • Castle Crashers
  • Coin Crypt
  • Hitman: Absolution
  • Long Live the Queen
  • Recettear
  • This War of Mine
  • Warframe
  • and more...

I'm also debating if I should begin Skyrim, Valkyria Chronicles and Fairy Fencer F. I have those as gifts, in case I'm not sure whether I would like to play them or not.

Most of these games don't have a definitive end, so I'm not gonna be ending those soon. (cough Realm of the Mad God cough Warframe cough)
