Batten down the hatches, powder monkeys! We got a coin shop starboard!
That's nice of you to do this thread, that can be useful.
Most satisfying game I've "bought" (for free) with coins is Reigns, although I have good expectation for Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan.
Do you have a source for next batch starting on February 9 ?
IIRC they used to refresh games every two weeks on saturday, but it seems they are now doing it on friday (hence the 9th as you surmised)
I don't understand why chrono.gg coin shop "counts" as a bundle on barter, this doesn't really make sense.

The idea is that 'cheap like bundles' stores (DIG points, SteamGround) should be treated like bundles because the pricing is equally low. Would you say this should rather be handled as 'freebies'?
P.S.: I don't understand why chrono.gg coin shop games give CV on SG when they should give none.

Is there any difference between bundled and bundled games on barter ? I thought the only purpose of "bundles" on barter was to make it easier to put games you acquired on your tradables. Maybe I'm missing some feature. That's why I was saying it doesn't make sense.
But actually I'd prefer these games to be handled as freebies, and as 0 CV on SG.
EDIT: ah you're right, bundles are also useful when you click on a game on barter and you want to see if it was bundled somewhere. But anyway, "bundles" is not a good category, I don't like the idea of a "bundle" that changes every two weeks.

Well, i dont understand why ign prime games give full CV here, since few years ago everyone could register thousands prime accounts without spending a single buck. And now accounts farmers sell those keys for cv farming ¯ \\ (ツ) / ¯
Comment has been collapsed.
pretty much that
I think that marking those games as 0CV bundle would be a very risky move which might end up penalising honest gifters more than people who are trying to farm cheap CV

For me the best games were Brigador (which I managed to get), Slayaway Camp and Circa Infinity (both of which I missed because I had not enough points, but managed to trade for some bundle games). Apart from Brigador I only got Mini Thief and I'm hoarding the remaining points. Never missed a day. ;-)

As objectively, very likely. It's not bad to have a free offer every 2 weeks, but it's way more common that I'm not interested than I am.
(got Death's Hangover, Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan, MechaNika (finished it, super cool) and I, Zombie in 7 months)

is Death's Hangover worth the amount of coins they are asking for it? Been eyeing with it for some time but i cannnot decide, sitting on like 4960 coins currently XD

I've been subscribed for a while and I've bought some games, both for me (Legend of Aurion, Blind Legend) and for others (I've made a MechaNika giveaway here on sg). They offer wildly different games, so I think there's something for everyone <3 I'm glad to have it here, so I'll remember more often XD

With all those links to Chrono.gg, this post is looking more like an advertisement than a deal. Letting people know about a bundle and what is in it is fine. Redirecting traffic to another site is not. Please tweak your post.

Which of the links are offensive to you and in your opinion should be removed?
Considering that none of the above points to something that one can spend actual money on (everything is bought with those coins that you get for free from daily login), I don't see how this post can be considered an advertisement. It's at most an advertisement for getting free games, which is permitted on SG. There are other posts on this forum that point to actual stores (DIG / Steamgroud), and not to something that offers freebies and those are allowed to live.
I will await for your reply and specific instructions for modifying the post before I do anything else about it.

TL; DR: The Barter.vg link can stay up, although that one isn't strictly necessary, either. The rest could be removed without harming any "newbies."

"But what about other threads? They post links to other sites...."
Yes, let's compare them.
Now, let's take a look at this page, again.
With all those links to Chrono.gg, this post is looking more like an advertisement than a deal.
I asked the creator of the thread to tweak the post because I assumed the intention was not to steer SG traffic to Chrono.gg. It should have been a trivial thing to comply, but I am finding unexpected resistance. Perhaps I was mistaken and this thread actually is intended to redirect traffic?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm confused. On your comparison list, are you saying even one link to another website is bad?
The reason there are so many links is because the Chrono coin shop isn't just another bundle site, and it can be confusing to new users as you can see from some of the queries in this discussion.
I don't want to speak for the OP, but I suspect that they thought the links would be preferable to copy and pasting paragraphs of text into their post.
I really can't tell if you are being serious with the last paragraph. As a regular browser of the Deals sub-forum I am extremely grateful for all the work sensualshakti does for our community and the idea that they are advertising for a particular site makes no sense. The resistance is there because a Chrono shop thread is long overdue and the overwhelming majority of the responses in this discussion are positive.
The responses from you in this and the hammering thread really come across as unnecessarily hostile.

I'm confused. On your comparison list, are you saying even one link to another website is bad?
No. What I am saying is that this thread looks more like an advertisement for Chrono.gg than an announcement for a deal. How do you fix that? You adjust it so that it no longer appears like an advertisement. One way to do that would be to simply take most of the Chrono.gg links out.
There is very little explanation needed, and most all of it is available on Chrono.gg. Anyone who can get to the site will be given ample directions and encouragement. As for those people too lazy to type "Chrono.gg" into their browser, an argument could be made to include a link to the home page. Had that been the only Chrono.gg link in this thread, I would not have bothered saying anything. What made me pause, though, was the transposition of Chrono.gg's on-site instructions along with links for everything. Here I am on SteamGifts, and I'm being told "Go to Chrono.gg! Go to Chrono.gg! Go to Chrono.gg! Go to Chrono.gg! Go to Chrono.gg! Go to Chrono.gg!"
Comment has been collapsed.
The IGN Prime links at the very least aren't superfluous. From the homepage there is typically no mention that Prime even exists, nor is there any mention of it on the login or register pages. Even when signed in as a Prime member and viewing my Prime page there's no link to the giveaway. The only reason it's still technically on the frontpage is that it features endless scrolling and even then its 40+ posts down the page.

I am finding unexpected resistance
You will find resistance when you ask people to edit things that are fine to begin with. Perhaps asking sensualshakti to limit unnecessary links in future deal posts would have been a better option.

But it's strange, because SG partners are Fanatical, HB and GamersGate but you can see this sub-forum full of direct links to Indiegala, DIG and other stores like Steam itself but only sensualshakti received a warning about posting direct links to a store.

Chrono.gg - Coin Shop (people can type Chrono.gg, so no link is needed)
By that logic no-one should be posting any links.

Reductive fallacy is hardly a compelling argument.

Hey Khalaq, I just wanted to let you know that I acknowledged your suggestions - thank you for your reply.
I find the demands a bit too extreme, therefore I asked for a second opinion from a fellow mod. I already opened a ticket related to that and still waiting for it to be processed. If the opinions are shared, I will conform to your demands.
What I really don't understand is what the real problem with Chrono.gg is and why this specific thread is targeted, and not others similar to it.
Take for example the recent threads for Brightlocker freebies - they are also bought with website coins. The huge difference is that Brightocker offers a limited amount of 50 coins after login, and if you want more, you need to pay real money to buy more coins (and a lot of money, to be more specific). There are only 2-3 items that you can buy with these coins, after which you are required to pay if you want to have more coins.
On Chrono.gg everything is free, there is no requirement to spend money and spending money doesn't even give you coins.
Yet Brighlocker threads are allowed to live untouched (and I think this is a good thing, people should know about those opportunities too).
I just find it unfair that there is a requirement for butchering only this thread. It feels to me that there is no consistence in applying the demands over all the threads opened on SG and this is the exact thing that bothers me (not the actual process of removing some links).
Therefore, please help me understand better your logic: why Chrono, why not Brightlocker / Steamground / Dig?
I don't see any specification about the restriction of having max 1 link per thread pointing at a specific website. Plus, those links don't scream: Go to Chrono!, just easy access links for the main areas of one's account. Why is it so wrong having them there?
And just to be specific: I am not promoting anything through my threads. SteamGifts-Deals became almost the most complete database of Deals and Bundles out there, all I do (or any other poster does) is help keeping the completeness and make it grow.
Comment has been collapsed.
As Khalaq said, the problem is not with chrono.gg, it's the fact that you have a lot of links in your post. For comparison, the brightlocker thread only has one link to brightlocker.com, yours has 7 links to chrono.gg
If you keep only the first link, and delete the 6 other ones, everything should be OK.
(It seems Khalaq also consider the first link to be superfluous, but having no link to the actual site would be strange, I think)

Give me a little time, SensualShakti. I'm still talking with other Mods about it and I'm trying to come up with a short synopsis of what I did and why I did it. Your post is fine as it is, right now.

Actually, spending actual money on Chrono.GG buying games won't give you any coins (which I have never understood, btw).
Comment has been collapsed.
Khalaq, most of the time I agree with you, but here I wholeheartedly disagree with you. Nobody is redirecting Traffic to another site and SensualShakti is definitely not advertising for Chrono. He is only making life easier for those people of SG who are interested in buying these games and is providing a sort of FAQ to limit spam.
All other threads to all other sites were no problem in the past, so I am really confused why you decide to flag this one here.
Especially since the Deals-Section and the invaluable work by SensualShakti and others who provide those wonderful charts make up 50% of the reason I still visit this site on a daily basis. Without them I would hardly visit SG anymore.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think this whole discussion is the superfluous part of the thread and wasted enough of everyone's time.
I removed the links now, they are meaningless anyway. Let me know if this is satisfactory enough.
I still think that it's unfair, but better like this than argue endlessly about such silly things.

Yes its a email spam site etc... AND i thought what the fuck is he/she posting here...^^
I wont use it but from all the sites that are crap this is the most relaxed version... :)
I hope some of you will get some good games there... seems they adding nice stuff from time to time...

On the account settings (can't link it here, I'm afraid that the mods will kill me if I paste another link to Chrono.gg) you can unsubscribe from their newsletter.(it's under Settings in the top right dropdown menu)
I was wondering why I don't get any emails from them ever, and I was surprised that someone else does. I had it deactivated xD

I haven't received a single email from them in the year I've been using the site except for purchase confirmations. If they are an email seller then they aren't doing a very good job of it since I haven't gotten any emails from elsewhere either.

'How coins work' doens't really told me anything useful :P
I dont know this site. Is it possible to get enought coins without buying anything on the site for real money?
Is it a huge grind for nothing? For ex, you will be able to get only shit games like Minion Matser year after registration?
Or is it reasonable, and you will be able to pick Garfield Cart after a month of clicking smth? :)
Comment has been collapsed.
You don't need to buy anything with real money.
When you login daily, you get around 20-25 coins per day, with a few hundred coins when you reach a few days milestones (7 days gives you around 350 in addition to the 20, 14 days gives you around 850, 30 days gave me around 2000). This means that you get enough coins in a couple of weeks to spend them on something, as long as you do your 1-click per day and you don't interrupt your streak.
However, keep in mind that you can spend your coins only on the items from the list in the OP. So it's very limited (right now: 11 games, with 2 new added next Friday).
With some rough calculations, I'd say you can get Garfield Cart in around 2 weeks of daily logins, assuming that by then it will still be available (right now 79% of the available copies have been claimed, in 1 month and a half since it's been up; I'd say you still have a chance at getting one).
This is an example of my daily coins: https://i.imgur.com/8sBa9rQ.png
I don't know why the dates are a bit random sometimes, might be because of the timezone differene.
I haven't logged in since July (I got lazy), but that's how it was before that.

Thx :)
Well, worth a try.
If I registered earlier i could get State of Anarchy. Now it's probably too late. Let's accumulate those coins and maybe something interesting will show up :)
Comment has been collapsed.
You'll definitely get State of Anarchy. It's been listed for more than half a year, I don't think many people still want it and they still have 20% of their copies left. It is possible that it will be removed when they add the next batch though, but who knows - it survived enough batches until now, it might as well survive one more :)

I have no idea. I don't know the rules about advertising here.
Short info, that you can get the cheapest games after a week, without any real money involved or community tasks, would be nice.
But maybe this is obvious for people on SG (cos you cant advertise such things here, right?) ^^

They just added 2 new game slots at the coin store page, one of them priced at 4k coins and another at 10k (so it must be something big) by the looks of it

BUTCHER has been bundled before in G2A Deal July 2017. ITAD doesn't track G2A deals at all.
Comment has been collapsed.
I... doubt that. If you really have tons of coins, you can buy that, but at least from my perspective I found so many more enjoyable games for 3-4000 coins, that this 10k feels out of place.
If you want to play the game and not just as an extra entry in your library, you can download a DRM-free version from the Humble Trove - judging from your giveaways you should have a subscription :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Haha, yes, I have HM subscription :D
But I really love playing games on Steam. Even though I have plenty of DRM-free games, I still have the same games in my wishlist. I will probably never play them, though
I have 16k on Chrono.gg, but I think it's too much for Gone home, that's why I asked.
Anywa, thanks :) I think I won't waste my 10k chrono coins on it :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually, I check every few days to check if there are new games. I check for same games only once. If there are interesting - I buy them. If not - I wait for other games :>
Comment has been collapsed.
anybody has any opinions about Butcher? been eyeing with it but I cannot quite decide if i should bite the bullet.
Comment has been collapsed.
I bit the Butcher bullet and bought it with my coins.
I've only played 10 minutes of it, but so far it seems alright...bit tough, maybe a bit unfair.
Like in Hotline Miami where you can so easily get shot from off-screen with absolutely no warning, it's so very possible to get sniped with no warning. But yeah, 4000 coins are not that big a deal, especially if you've been on top of your daily Chrono clicking.
