* Looks like GMG is temporarily out of stock of Intel Starter keys, they mention they'll send the keys later but you might not want to risk it. There might be more in stock now. Thanks for the info thekuribo

Be sure to redeem your bronze, silver and gold rewards before 2nd August at 15:59 BST because it looks like they're removing them then. According to an email Uroboros received. On Twitter they mention 5th August, 4PM , but better safe than sorry.

I'm starting to feel like GMG mouthpiece considering that it's the second GMG thread I created in a little over a month but I thought it was a good deal to share and there's no thread yet.

If you buy a game from the Gold or Silver lists you get 4 games from the "Free Intel® Starter Pack" (5 if you sign for their newsletter) which include Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Raw Data (Raw Data has been replaced with dlc for: Archangel™: Hellfire) as the major stand outs + one other game from the gold or silver list depending of the game you bought. Depending of regional price you could get the games for less than $5 dollars.

Just curious, because I'm very interested in picking those two up.

Here they mention some of the games in the pack. And yeah, they're steam. I already tried it myself, got Super Hot VR.

so lets get this straight:

Buy a silver/gold game

get 4 games from intel pack (5 if sub to newsletter)
get a voucher for 1 game from GMG for silver/gold

deal so confusing :(

It is kind of confusing, even more because you get a key you activate on intel's website and then when you choose the games you get a key for each game to use in GMG to actually get the games. But for the most part it's as you mentioned.

When you put the code in the Intel website, it first asks to accept some terms and then asks if you want to sign to the newsletter, it even has another popup, asking you if you're sure you don't want the bonus software, which I confirmed not wanting because I thought it would just be one more from the list of ten.

Mm. The games at best match their previous Steam sales, and the majority seem to fail at that. The freebies seem to be about what you'd expect. Definitely seems to be more of an "I was going to get this game anyway, so let me get some free games with it" promotion than anything in line with the sale appeal that we'd expect from a bundle or similar promotion.

Well, their previous bundle status aside, the gold tier at least as a few high profile games like Arkham Asylum and Injustice, for those who missed them in previous bundles. Injustice doesn't seem to have gone out in any lower than 1.33 per-game bundle yet, either (which appears to be nearly twice the per-game bundle cost of the next most valuable [by that consideration] gold game).

5 years ago*
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah the sale on it's own is not that great. But if you have VR or are interested in getting one at some point both those games seem to have a good reception. Also apparently the Star Trek game can be played without VR.

Thanks for the heads up, but GMG is making it way to messy for me.

First I have to make an angry-old-fart-post here to be corrected on which tiers gives what reward (thanks Aethyna and drbeckett;
Then I have to look through the games in two different tiers to see which ones I'd consider buying;
Then I have to go throw all the rewards for both tiers and compare to Steam so I don't get games I already own;
Continued on the first step, the Intel-reward is now thoroughly explained to me so even I understand how it works;
Then I have to go back to my original angry-old-fart-post and edit it. Twice. Because I was corrected twice. Because I'm stupid ;-).

Due to the amount of effort they're making me go through to just buy a bundle, I'm not going to.

To me, this is the equivalent of a travelling salesperson coming to my driveway, beeping the car horn to get me to go out there to ask what he wants. It's just lazy, and I'm not in for such a ''ride''.
The idea might be good with lots of choices, but the way it's done is just horrendously messy.

Well you can see the link to the Intel site here were it says "Got your Intel® starter pack key? Redeem" but it's definitely quite messy.

Also as a correction it's on greenmangaming not Fanatical. And only two of the lists (Gold and Silver) gives you the Intel key, which is more to add to the confusion.

Yep ,needlessly convoluted.
Very ,very ,messy and opaque but is is possible to wade through it ,with some help from users here.
I'm sure many would just be turned off by it.
They don't seem bothered at GMG about making sales easily.

Or maybe they're trying to hide the fact that it's not a great deal unless you were wanting the main purchase anyway. :P
Trying to blind you with misdirection :)

Let's face it .most of the sites are at it.
If it's not "mystery loot-boxes", it's weird stuff like this.

Did you get someone to help you claim the games?

Edit: Khayta recommended using Opera's VPN and that seemed to work, so you might want to try that.

5 years ago*
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, Khayta's tip worked nicely.
But that's not the problem, the problem is they think it's normal to block VPNs for people who already purchased stuff. Blocking VPNs before purchase is douchy already, but I can understand that due to license reasons they must enforce georestrictions, etc., so at least that's understandable. Blocking VPNs after purchase is like "eh, your IP was good enough to give us money, but it's not good enough for us to deliver the goods" :x

(and yes, Ryzens are pretty nice ATM anyway ^^)

As you can see, I revealed all keys on my Intel page. I'm aware what should be redeemable. I just started one by one, completely unaware I should choose what I wanted the most, but luckily got them all. As for newsletter, yeah, few hours later after revealing GRID Autosport, all other games are giving "We are temporarily out of codes and working to reload our system. Check back soon." info when try to reveal.

I bought my Gold tier game just few minutes after sale started, maybe there was a temporary bug.
