Shovel Knight (Steam)
Shovel Knight (GOG)
Shovel Knight (Humble; $9.04 with Monthly discount)
$10 sale ends March 2nd for any place they were able to get them going.

DLC#0: Shovel Knight becomes Shovel Knight Treasure Trove (most likely to distinguish it from the rest of the added DLC, but mostly to advertise it as a complete package I GUESS)
DLC#1: Plague of Shadows is already released.
DLC#2: Specter of Torment releases in April (?) unless delayed.
DLC#3: Shovel Knight: King Knight’s (name TBD) releases sometime in 2017

Announcement article http://yachtclubgames.com/2017/02/specter-of-torment-and-treasure-trove-initial-release-date/

All owners of Shovel Knight on all platforms will automatically own Shovel Knight:Treasure Trove instead and will continue to get each of the planned free campaigns and features via updates. It will work exactly like how Shovel Knight was updated to include its first campaign addition, Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows. Don’t worry! *

.

Around the release of this new campaign, all existing versions of Shovel Knight, on all platforms, will become Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove! With three full-fledged character campaigns, Challenge Mode, local co-op, Body Swap, and somehow even more content on the way– Shovel Knight’s adventure has expanded considerably since the original release. Along with the change, the price of Shovel Knight will increase to $24.99 in March.

this means all DLC, the unreleased Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows and Shovel Knight: King Knight’s (I think this too?), are free if you own it before April (but the price goes up to $25 in March)*

oh yeah

If I buy this as a gift, and gift it to someone (let's say a year from now) will it be as if they are recieveing THIS current version, and thus grant them access to everything (like current owners have & will get)?

The answer: yes
(oops. I had the wrong question)
I don't.. know!! The publisher or dev (?) might respond on the Steam forums, so lurk this and wait for an answer. I looked this up just to see, but I don't have any answers that aren't in the article. I don't want to give possible false information is all.

Here are better details for Shovel Knight and the DLC for free. Basically, you get it if you own Shovel Knight.

I was hoping they would bundle the game soon, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Thanks for the giveaway :)

I'll keep waiting untill the game gets under $7, I can wait for the rest of the decade if needed is not like I'm gonna run out of games to play anytime soon and I don't mind playing games years after their release.

This kind of thing always happens when I have no money :p

Hope everyone picks it up in time, I've heard its a very good game!

surprised it hasn't been bundled yet.

Because devs know how good their game is, and want all the money they can get. For 2.5 years this game's max discount was 34%.

This is around #1 on my wishlist... so... I'll probably grab it up if it's not in humble monthly (fat chance...), and I don't win giveaway... (again, fat chance). :D

Thanks for the info at any rate!

I could totally see this being a Humble Monthly Bundle game (maybe the one revealed for next month anyway). Shame the deal ends the day before the March monthly bundle drops.

Ah, I did not even check the times... Well, in that case, I'll probably be more inclined to grab it.

I loved this game, but haven't gotten to Plague of Shadows yet. It's very generous of the devs to provide free bonus campaigns to all original owners like this. I'm excited to go back through it and try out the DLCs.

FYI Walmart put the game at $7 for 3DS or Wii U last month (in-store only) for what I assume is some kind of annual clearance.

Picked this up for $10 on sale before the first DLC and it was WELL worth it. Dare I say it'll be worth even the $25, though I try to avoid paying full price on anything ;)

Can't wait for the new DLC and here's a bump for good measure :)

Great deal for current owners, but kind of a bad business decision. Given the Plague content and this new one are basically entirely new campaign modes, they probably should have just released them as sequels or spin-offs.

I'm not complaining since I have the game and will benefit from the free content, but with so many indie developers struggling, I wonder whether this generosity will come back to bite them in the butt.

Daaamn... This is both good and bad! Good because.. It's nice it's getting an update and that it's free to current owners of the game (I heard it's a reeeeally great game!), and bad because I'm low on money lately.. ;-; Must find a way...

Thanks for the info btw! I appreciate it! :3

Bought a key from HB because I have 10% off and had Wallet also, even though I have the game in steam already. Anyone know whether the key will give the version with all content, if activated after that big update?

I'm not a fan of this style of retro graphics and there's a million of platformers so I'll keep on missing on this.
Not really into games that look like those I grew up playing since they looked like crap :-)

I've thought about it and I don't think so. Just like the Skyrim Legendary edition no longer entitles you to a free upgrade to the Special edition. SK has to be activated before the deadline.

you should probably ask in the forums for a real answer. it might have been answered.

the yacht rep responded and said yes, though I would technically say this version (Shovel Knight) becomes the upgraded version (Shovel Knight Treasure Trove) which includes all future DLC.

Can this be played PROPERLY using a KB and mouse?

...why the hell would you use mouse in a 2D platformer like this? As for KB, I don't see how that would be a problem, unless the key layout is weird and impossible to remap.

Pretty damn good and well-made game, I gotta finish it up.
