It does. It looks like another shitty final fantasy game due to the fact that other shitty FF games had angsty characters. Look at 4, 7, 8, 10, 13, and now 15.
Combat seems like a 'mash x to win' type of combat seen in KH2.
Remember the hype around 13 before it was released? Then remember how much hate it got when it was released?
So yeah seems like another shitty FF game.

I don't question his tastes, not that I care about what he likes, but people shouldn't think that if they don't like something, nobody likes it. Everybody has it's own preferences.
CompassNorth, if you think that XV will be a shitty game, then don't buy it and spend your money in something else.

If there is any expectactions of quality, its on FF XV, and not one the crappy XIII. Nomura has a excellent track record and its really the only I can see saving the FF series at this point.

What? Not what I meant by button masher.
It's because Squeenix wanted to improve upon the slower paced combat system, but they didn't really put much thought into it so instead they made the combat faster, added a bunch of new flashy combos, and even put QTEs which was not an improvement at all because all it did was promote button mashing.

I think that's absolutely reasonable for Square to try new things on their games, I loved the combat system they used on the other FF titles, but I enjoy games by playing them, not by complaining about how they changed the gameplay from the last game and looking for differences between them. Each game is different from each other! For example, if you know that there's going to be a new FF and the first thing you do is to say: "It's different, I don't like it, I prefered FFXII, it was better", then you should play FFXII and let other people enjoy new things without making them uncomfortable.

You did not just insult Final Fantasy 7, and 8. I would disagree with Finalfantasy 10 but others wouldn't.
But what the flying !@#$? You're telling me that Final Fantasy 7 one of the best selling FInal Fantasys was a shitty game?! WHY is Final Fantasy 9 not in there, what about FF10=2 that was shitty FF11 was shitty.

Because FFIX didn't revolve around a angsty pretty boy, and FFIX is not a shitty games by any means. It's one of the great (mainline) FF games along with V and XII.
Also FFX is okay, the only reason I added it there was due to the fact that Tidus was an angsty character due to his daddy issues. Gameplay wise FFX wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The sphere grid was very linear and opened up late in-game, and it's also linear map-wise.
Also if I remember correctly one of the devs said that FFX and X-2 are prequels to FFVII.

I'm going to have to agree, FF has been garbage mostly since 6 (with 9 and Tactics being the only exceptions. 7 was overrated to an enormous degree and is so-so AT BEST!) Do the math here people. It peaked over HALF THE SERIES AGO.

Certainly one of the best story-wise, if a little generic and lacking in the character department - mainly thanks to an overinvestment in the near-redundant Vaan and Penelo.
I feel sorry for FFXII - it's like the red-headed stepchild of the series because of the departure it took from the regular combat system, but honestly it is one of my favourites and I'm a fan of the series.

I thought the story in 12 was meh, but the combat was the best in the series. I haven't played any games released after 12 though.

I don't find so much differences between the ff xii combat and the older ones, i mean the only differences is that does not pop up a combat screen to fight but you can move but in the end it's alway turn based(kinda) and with about the same features.

Agreed. There's always an 80/20 chance that every console port turns out to be pure shit. Dead Rising 2? Console fanboy tripe. Darks Souls? Lazy-ass port. Binary Domain? QTE/cutscene emulator. Resident Evil 5? More console fanboy tripe. Alan Wake? That's your /20 right there.
I'd rather developers just stopped porting their horrible console games over to the PC entirely.

There is a difference, Square have no plans to release the game on PC at this time and they are actually looking for interest. PC gaming is almost non-existent in japan outside of indies and visual novels. I would also like you to point out the last SquareEnix DEVELOPED game that was released on PC (Last Remnant). Ubisoft on the other hand has not NOT release a game on PC in a long time despite their complaining about piracy.
The situation here is like Dark Souls, a developer that does have much experience developing for PC. If we want it we need to let them know, now where do I sign?

Square Enix is pretty strong in the PC market since they bought Eidos. Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution and Tomb Raider have great PC ports. They know that there is interest in FFXV among PC gamers. They also said that they develop the game in an PC environment and that porting the game to PC wouldn't be difficult since the consoles are manufactured on x86.

Did you actually watch the trailer, and if so was it the same one I saw? In between the flashy cinematic and obviously heavily scripted events, I saw a nice looking Action-RPG battle system during the fight in the courtyard. Additionally the sword-teleporting mechanic looks interesting and will either be tightly scripted and thus useless or an awesome way of moving around quickly.

I said Square Enix developed games, all the games you listed were published by Square. I would like to add that they did make FFXIV Online for PC, though we know how that turned out. Having taken a look at the options menu for Realm Reborn though, they do seem to know what they're doing on the PC. They still don't have a consistent track record of releasing their in-house developed games on PC though.

Not turn based then not worth bothering with. Square can keep FF to themselves, thanks.

I'm interested. Also random battles/turn based combat are an absolutely archaic design choice so I've got no issues whatsoever with them trying something different.

During his on-air E3 Square Enix Presents interview, director Tetsuya Nomura commented that the game was being developed in a PC environment, and that platforms that best support DirectX 11 will be likely candidates for the game’s appearance. While this may rule out a WiiU debut, it has led some PC fans to wonder if Square Enix will throw a bone their way.
Yoshihisa Hashimoto, Square Enix’s Chief Technology Officer, has lead the charge into the next-generation for the company with the Luminous Engine that will host games such as Final Fantasy XV. A PC version is currently undecided, but “collaborations” with Luminous Studio are planned for the future. The game, as per the team, will require a top of the line (expensive) machine to run. It’s because of this point that they want to see what the “demand” will be from the PC audience (which is your cue to let them know that you want it).
More Japanese Developers on PC!!
