Some games have DLCs, but have no packs at Steam.
For example :
Fallout: New Vegas http://store.steampowered.com/app/22380/
Warehouse and Logistics Simulator http://store.steampowered.com/app/273940/

Also for whatever reasons, DLCs may be separately. For example, they were purchased, when there was no pack "all in one".

Users can't create one giveaway to give all DLCs (or game + DLCs) at once.
Chances to win once all components of pack (all DLCs from different giveaways) - negligible.
And you can not enter to giveawasy for DLCs, as long as you do not have the basic game - i.e, impossible to win at the same time game, and DLC.

Option "make giveaway for user-created pack" would help in such cases.

sorry for my english

user-created packs

Yes, we need it / Useful
No, we don't need it / Useless

sorry, but user created packs sounds like something people would try and mix bundled and non-bundled dlc's together and try and get full cv from it.. sounds like something that would be to easy to abuse. gotta go with no.

I don't see a problem why CV couldn't be calculated exactly according to the contents of what is given away.
(For example: Main game, bundled, 2 DLCs, bundled, 1 DLC, not bundled - CV for the whole package would be calculated accordingly as if those things were given on its own)

It would allow people to give away main games with DLCs or maybe all games of a certain series or such. I definitely wouldn't use it much (or maybe not at all) but the idea itself is not bad imo.

The point that speaks against it the most is probably the amount of work needed to implement it, with so many other features that are wanted by the community.

yeah i see your point, i suppose if it were designed properly. but i'd still have to give it a low rating of importance compared to other things needed more.

Yes. Since this will SteamGifts own pack, CV for the each thing will not change.

This like several giveaways with one winner.

Of course, this is not the most necessary today, But I would like to have the option.
(Because I have disjunct DLCs for giveaway, and I would like to get some games with DLC.
The same notorious "Warehouse and Logistics Simulator" :D)

Maybe he means that he has the game + 1 DLC?
Not 100% sure why we'd need it either.

This like other game
(i have Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, and simple Fallout: New Vegas not marked as "is already in your Steam library")
Different ID. For Steam it's different games

Someone have single "New Vegas" (thread not about "New Vegas", it's just for example).
He want to got all DLCs at once, don't want to hunt for them one by one.
I have all DLCs for "New Vegas". I want to give all for such a person
It's impossible.

I can create only several separated giveaways.
Different people will get different DLC. But each of them will receive a non-complete collection.

But this is what I'm saying: For FO:NV, you can create an Ultimate Edition giveaway as long as you have all 6 store DLCs. It was put on store in a really ass-backwards way, but what I linked there is the actual base game + all DLC package. Trust me, I have been dealing with this same issue on its forum for years now at each season sale, when hundreds of people ask the same question on why they see that store page as owned, despite having the base game only: because it actually acts like a subID.

I get what you mean and I have run into this problem with some graphics novels that keep their bonus content separate and never offer any "full" editions, but I also have an unhealthy amount of experience sorting out this New Vegas misconception. (So consider me "triggered", to use a semi-popular meme word of these weeks. :))

You've got a good idea, but I'd say the priority should be the Humble Bundle 1 key per tier packs.
Like the CoH bundle.

no offense, but it's pretty useless from a ga creator's point of view since you get 1 slot every 3 GAs you make.putting everything in a pack will slow your progress (unless you already have a lot of slots?).
it's also complex to check who activated each thing inside the pack, and people can farm a lot of cv (those games with $400 dlc) because most of the time it's invisible to sg.

So, i have 1 game + 1 DLC out of 10 DLC in GOTY edition (I can create GOTY giveaway but not with game + 1DLC).
Then decided to give them away and I want the winner to get both games and DLC.
And people that didn't even have the base game can join too..
Hmm, make sense..

Maybe do it manually.

Put in description:
The winner will get 2 DLC too, i will PM the keys

This is what many do, especially after learning that many DLC can be entered even if owned or even if the person doesn't even wn the base game in the first place…

It can be useful if someone wants to gift the base game plus a couple of DLCs (but not all) to one person, but it can confuse a lot of people and we have enough of those as it is. :P
