Good gog Spring sale?
BTW thanks to this GOG sale the game ECHO is at a historic low of 70% off - 20% less than Steam has ever sold it.
Seems like a unique third person stealth/shooter where the AI mimics your tactics over time. I'm a patient gamer still waiting for the price to go even lower or for the game to get bundled though.
EDIT: This specific sale is over, as it turns out this was part of a Spring Sale daily deal yesterday.

I'm sorry. I did some digging and it turns out ECHO was part of a spring sale daily deal, which means it must've been a flash sale. I didn't know GOG did flashes during seasonal sales.

I don't want to damp your enthusiasm but ECHO honestly isn't that good. Yes I've beaten that game. Most of the time it's just repetitive. You avoid enemies, run away, fill Elevator's energy source then go down further. Story is non existent and mostly told through two characters' conversations and the details are vague.
Not to mention it's short. Only 7 hours or less.
For that price I honestly can't say I get my money's worth.

Ty, just bought HOMM3 now. :) 1st game for me on GOG, but not the last. I will stop buying on steam because of https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements.

Yes, that announcement is shady. Not customers oriented imho. I am really glad you've gotten that, personally, I've been checking the price. I do still have a physical copy. If I didnt have much backlog, I'll have purchased it and play it myself. XD If you're into Strategy and RTS, May I suggest Empire Earth series, do read the comments as users have different opinion on which is the best of the series but its an engaging RTS that rivals Age of Empire during its time imo. Cheers and Have great fun with HOMM3!!! :D

Wow, that's rough. They already use the helpfulness score to hide bad reviews (e.g. take a look at Kerbal Space Program with and without the check box) and now they are going to hide the bad ones in a blanket fashion because they were posted in a specific timeframe. Wow.
I have been buying from GOG for a while. About the only games I buy on Steam are bundles or specific requests by my kids.

Harry Potter
Old licensed IP re-releases don't happen except in very rare, unusual circumstances. They are now effectively freeware and available from plenty of sites, so enjoy them if you want.

"effectively"
Go ahead and try to pay the publisher for a copy though and let us know how it works out.

Freeware Definition. Freeware is computer software that is made available free of charge, but which is copyrighted by its developer, who retains the rights to control its distribution, modify it and sell it in the future. It is typically distributed without its source code, thus preventing modification by its users.
Not being officially sold digitally is not the same as being a freeware. Bio Menace , or Beneath a Steel Sky is freeware, because the publisher/developer said so. And no, abandonaware also not a category accepted by law.

I was being euphemistic, smartass. But go ahead and keep thinking you can pay for it from the rights holder and actually get the game, or that any gives fucks if you don't.

I'd really like to see Black Dahlia on GOG ( https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/black_dahlia ). I played it as a kid, but it's always a huge hassle trying to get it to run on modern systems.... it would be nice if they'd do a modern build of it.

Looks like a pretty fun game, heard it was interesting. Wouldn't mind checking it out if GoG ever got it. Gave it my vote

Avernum: The Complete Saga is on sale for <4 bucks - pretty sweet deal for 7 quality rpgs.

If I buy Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodliness there (or any other game), will it come with the Steam key?

Well, ended up buying about 45 things off my wishlist. Ended up being about 63 games or so since some were packs/bundles with multiple games. Also thinking about grabbing Grim Dawn + dlcs while they are on sale, though need to wait for next paycheck first :(

They got me good right before the sale ends.

Good afternoon fellows.
As you know the gog sale is currently going on.
Have you bought anything so far?
Personally I've bought several games I couldn't find anywhere else (well apart from Steel Rats™):
Steel Rats™ - 2.09€
Speed Busters: American Highways - 1.29€
Tzar: The Burder of the Crown - 5.29€
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc - 1.69€
Rayman 2: The Great Escape - 1.69€
Wing Commander ®: Privateer ™ - 1.39€
Pro Pinball Big Race USA - 5.29€
Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 - 5.29€
Flight of the Amazon Queen - Free
Street Fighter Alpha 2 - 5.29€
Restaurant Empire - 5.29€
Diablo - 8.89€
Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 - 5.29€
SWAT 4: Gold Edition - 4.69€
What games are you missing the most in gog?
Personally I'd love to see Pocket Tanks Deluxe in gog. Blitwise wrote in 2014 "we are considering doing a proper release with a whole new version of the game that includes in-app purchases and online play https://www.gog.com/forum/general_archive/pocket_tanks_deluxe_awareness_thread but unfortunately there hasn't been any news.
The old Harry Potter games would be a perfect fit for gog, specially Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban. In fact there's a petition with more than 1600 signatures requesting for the Harry Potter games to be digitally distributed, let's see if it goes anywhere.
