I would propose an additional point system along with the current point system. A "premium" point system.

If you make a public gift, and only a public gift to prevent frauds, and the gift is marked as received, you receive an amount of "gift" points equal to the amount of points is worth. For example, you give away a game valued at 40 points, the gift is received, then you receive 40 "gift" points.

With these points, you can enter giveaways, created by community members, that can only be entered with "gift" points, giving people who gift frequently an opportunity to enter a giveaway with much fewer entries. Creating these giveaways should not provide any "gift" points to the creator.

This system would not only encourage gifters to continue to gift, but also give them an opportunity to enter a giveaway with a better chance of winning.

Gifters who giveaway a relevant quantity of money in games get invited to a special Steam group where Private giveaways with less people and better games tend to happen.

I'm in one of those groups (as are all of the top contributors of the site this week and most of the weeks previous) but I was trying to think of a way to incorporate this to the site. But yes, I see your point and it's valid.

That's pretty cool. I look forward to the time that I add enough to the community to join in.

I didn't appear on the top list of the week but i made some giveaways. There is a lot of people in the same situation, i think those groups should add people that make good giveaways, not only the ones in the top list.

You could ask a member of the S.Gifters for an invite; you have given away over $100 worth of games, I think the minimum is $75 or something, last time I checked. That's if you aren't in there already.

The problem with "good" giveaways is, wether the game is good or not, they're often influenced by their cheap value, not by their content. So in order to filter this, people on these groups get picked by their total money spent on giveaways rather than quantity.

I'm already a member of S.Gifters, i thought they were talking about another group that only invited top donators of the week. Thanks for the info anyway :)

This is probably the first "make giveaway, get points" idea that I actually kinda like. Not bad.
