Yeah, I've faked that, fo' real. I'm not even fan of HL. Believe it or not, look at picture and tell me if it's photoshoped.
BTW: I've found this out by playing with source code, as you can see, middle ring is glowing, I was watching the resources and noticed that. I bet it's their way to troll us. Time will tell.

they had a couple of hl images(called resources ,that probably share a common layout or something that's why they have the same name),as you can clearly see, and while creating the webpages they simply did hl , hl2, hl3 ecc..when creating webpages it happens to have a lot of same name resources,mainly to know when they go inside the same layout or div or whatever...
Also i can't find that resource any more apparently...

Firefox. I just noticed you were using Chrome, and the inspect feature looks like that. I don't use Chrome much, but this can be useful, thanks ;)

Well it's still Inspect Element (Q) in firefox, but as far as I've seen it doesn't have resource tab, rest is similar.

Obvious fake obviously. The name of the background image is steamos_planet_image.jpg. And the middle circle is not even lit up right now. Why are you bothering with such an obvious fake?

Do you mind opening source code and checking background image?

You can light those circles up yourself, just change it from a to b.

11 years ago

I checked the source of the page and that's why I wrote what I wrote. So, why are you bothering with such an obvious fake?

11 years ago

What browser are you using? (Not sure why browser would matter anyway) It's clearly:
"
.tv.day1 {
background-image: url('http://cdn3.store.steampowered.com/public/images/promo/livingroom/atCJhXa17i/steamos planet image.jpg');
}
"

Comment has been collapsed.

Do you even know what are you talking about? I said the exact same thing, that the name of the background is steamosplanetimage.jpg and now you copy-paste it here too...

Still don't understand why are you making such an obvious fake image and now talking gibberish...

Rapid, please look at Peroxides comment. This has to do something Steamgifts styling, it's not with italic text, it has around planet .

11 years ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The original was this planet so it's safe to assume they will change with each announcement. I am almost positive this is a fake though, the images he's claiming to see were not there on the 20th nor are they there now. I could see them accidentally being listed when the page launched, but I don't believe they added them afterwards only to remove them.

If you look at the naming scheme, they've put a little effort into hiding the next planet images. The first image was located at '/livingroom/00_planet_image.jpg' where as the new one is at '/livingroom/atCJhXa17i/steamos_planet_image.jpg'. I imagine the next two planets are in their own directories to prevent someone from finding them.

The glyph is easy to change, I assume he was trying to make it seem like he was viewing a page that was meant to be revealed at a later date. Glyph images are located at '/livingroom/glyph_01_a.png' and all you have to do is change the 'a' to a 'b' and the '01' to '02' or '03'.

11 years ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, I knew I couldn't see how the page looks at a later date by just changing image. As I've said, I was just playing around the resources. And found those out. But sokie made his point and it makes sense, but as you've said about that hiding, maybe they have hidden hl images in other folder and are no longer accessible?
Too bad I haven't pushed up source code to show you all images, there were plenty more of those and all were giving errors when I tried to access them.

BTW: Thanks for explaining. ^^

OP, love how you keep insisting that it's real even though the amount of people saying that it's fake.

The images are not there, simple as that. And yes, I checked. I agree that you can change the images but it's useless as any coming images are not uploaded yet (except for the 3 glyph images but those can't spoil anything). Neither do the hl3 images exist ;)

Look, I don't even care anyway, my 2 friends saw it. But I don't do screen recording or whatever. There is no actual way I can prove you what I've seen.

I can't use Ps properly.
Yes I do have it attached to my taskbar but just because I need it to make some pictures transparent 'n stuff like that. I can't edit shit in it.

Anyway, I'm off to bad. Good night everyone.

Oh and at begin, I wasn't even saying it was 100% correct proof for HL3, I was just asking what you think, but you all started attacking me that picture was fake.

I think each circle as a meaning, since we know the first "central" circle is the steam OS, the second one is a circle inside two brackets, possibly meaning "OS inside steambox", last one being circle + circle, which could be related to "OS + software" (such as games), there is no box around these circle which could mean that both things are released for steam-pc, not just steambox. Hence the reason why there is no box around them, if it did have, it would imply it would be a "steambox feature only".

O + O, might be the Steam Controller.
These "O"'s might stand for the analog sticks and the "+" for the D-pad.

Quite stupid if you ask me, Xbox controller work just fine and so does PS controller with some apks.
Unless they plan to make it work with every single game on Steam somehow.

Plausible, but why would they showcase a controller that can be showcased with the steambox and mentioned that it works under steambox and pc...?
