We got her froM an animal shelter Back in August 2012, so she's been with us the past 3 years. Even though she was already 12 years old when we got her, she was still full of energy when you would Play with her. She was such a cute little ball of kindness.

She had a lot of pRoblems, though. Poor girl. She had an incredibly sensitive skin, a lot of her teeth had to be removed due to some kind of infection, she was almost blind and ran into stuff almost constantly. She also didn't hear very well anymore, or at least she never did when we called her. She was such a kind dog though. She never barked - except when she thought she saw someone in our garden (remember, bad eyesight), which happended 1, two.. three times. She would also always stay near you and follow you around the house, even though you just got up to get something to drinK for example.

Rest in peace, little fella. I will miss cuddling with you, Kitty.

Side note: Yeah, her name was Kitty - which is kind of a weird name for a dog but then again, we didn't give her that name, her first owner did.

If you made it until here, awesome. And honestly, I don't even want any sympathy, I just needed a thread to hide my giveaways in and this is literally the only thing that has happened recently and that I can tell you guys about. There are three gibs to find.

Such a long life, and such loving relationship, should be celebrated instead of mourned!

She was a cute dog... why not call a dog Kitty?
Sure enough I've seen cats called "Tiger", and dogs called "Lion" or "Wolf".
P.S. Thanks!

I mean.. these names make kinda sense - a tiger basically is a large cat and dogs are also kinda related to wolves.
But I just think that it's weird to call a dog 'Kitty'. That's just my personal opinion, I guess.

Okay, you've got a point, and I won't talk about the lobster called Fluffy.
My dad had a huge fish tank, and this remembered my something that happend ages ago, when I was a little kid.

I was watching him as he cleaned the tank, when he dropped the work lamp he held in his hand right into the water. He then proceeded to dunk his hand in the tank, picked up the lit lamp and put it aside.

He resumed his work for a few seconds, then stopped and said "Um... how can I be still alive?", and then he just shrugged and kept cleaning the tank.

I think, in some parallel universe I am an orphan since then.

I also think I went a little bit off-topic.

Man I am feeling extremely sad now :( We too have a Labrador and she is 4 years old now, healthy and active but to think that one day she too will pass away dammit :|

Rest in peace Kitty :)

Don't be sad! Also, don't think about that now already. She still got all her life in front of her, so don't worry, have fun with her and enjoy your time with her :)

No I mean I felt extremely sad after reading about Kitty, before we got our dog Tina(yeah my mom named her :p) I didn't cared that much about dogs but over the years I came to care about dogs a lot more than I knew. Now I don't live with my parents but visit 2-3 times a week to see them and Tina as well :D

Then again my best friend who was more than a friend and more like a brother to me passed away when we were just 16 so I know the pain of loosing someone very close to you and his death still hurts me, don't think that will go away until I die I guess. Knew him from when I was around 4-5 years old and never had a friend like that again in my life.

Oh alright, I understand. I'm sorry to hear this. People always say that "time heals everything" but I don't really think it does. Like, of course I don't want to be sad about something that happened early in my life but on the other hand I think that if you just suppress or forget that it happened... that's not good either. Eh, I think that went a little off-topic. Oh whatever.

I was just telling my wife the other day that I haven't really had anyone close to me pass away yet. So the hardest loss for me to take was the dog I had for 14 years (a male black lab). I've been really wanting another dog for a while, but it's really hard for me to take care of the dog I want living in the city. I'd need a big yard for it. Hang in there!

Same goes for me, until now "only" pets have passed away for me.
Ah, that sucks. I hope you can get another one some day. Dogs are great.

Thanks for taking good care of her. Been there, you can keep a picture of her nearby, possibly wallpaper. This way she'll always be with you.
