Hi

As i know, uplay only offers the linking, if i purchase an uplay game from the steam store/other store to steam and after starting it, a message will pop up. I would like to buy the cheapest steam-uplay game to connect my two accounts together. I found Far Cry 3 and AC-series, but maybe there are somecheaper or bundled ways to get something ubi to my steam.

Thanks for your help.

You just missed another HB Ubisoft bundle. Those keys are certainly floating around for cheap.

I got them, but those are uplay keys and nothing to do with steam:/ I need an Ubisoft game to steam which need uplay but is located in my steam library. Thanks for answer anyway

That Ubi bundle is the main reason of my question, and the second are the ubi30 giveaways. I got decent amount of Uplay games, but all are in the uplay library. Starting them from steam, making there screenshots, earning achies, etc would be nice and comfortable, but the two accounts cannot linking together with another method as i know:/

Linking accounts won't change that. They won't appear on Steam as "Steam games".
Just make a shortcut on Steam.

I would like to know too.
At first I thought AC1 was an option because somebody said so (that you could get a free copy on Uplay if you own it on Steam and connect both accounts) on the Community forums but apparently the Steam and Uplay versions are completely seperate.
I think Shadow of Mordor is not an option neither.

Linking those games as a "non-steam" game isn't an option anymore, since steam doesn't shows non-steam screenshots in the activity since january 10-11.

You won't get them as steam games even if you link the account, or at least this happened in my case ;)

As i know, they showing up in the steam library and can use the steam features, but uplay starts in background if i want to play them. Or not?

No, as far as i know, they don't. Bought Splinter Cell Blacklist some time ago on steam and therefore linked the uplay account to the steam one, By them got all the free games on ubi 30 and no one of them will show up on steam and let me earn achievements.
Let me know if you become certain that they can drop chievments ;)

They don't. That's only the case for games you own on Steam itself, because those will still require uplay. You need Steam keys for anything you wanted to use the Steam features on and get achivements for. Having your Steam & UPlay accounts linked will not grant any of those games on the Steam side at all.

Wow, good to know. My question is pointless. Linking is bullsh... then, it gives absolutely nothing.

Yep, it gives you nothing. It's just required when you buy an Ubisoft game on Steam because owning it on Steam it still requires you run it through UPlay because DRM. There is no benefit at all. Which is quite unfortunate.

That sucks :(

Not sure if this would work as a workaround though, only your game on Steam will actually launch through steam, your non-steam Uplay games won't.

Best I can think of right now maybe Child of Light.

So far, it was US$ 3.74 for the cheapest price.

Thanks man, it still can be purchased for about 4$, good to know. This is an option. Maybe there are interesting titles, because i will surely never play this thing and have another 300+ useless steam game. Maybe i want too much:/
But thanks again, a possible solution if nothing works.

Wait until AC2 is on a good discount. It usually goes for 2,5€ on sale.

Linking wont help on steam overlay work on uplay games. They always work when you buy them on steam, but its iffy if you try to add them as non-steam.

One solution in my case to make steam overlay work on the division as a AMD user was to disable the AMD External Events Utility. there are other workarounds to make it work, depends on the user machine.

Correct me if it's necessary, but I'm confused now. For example i have AC Chronicles on Uplay. If i can connect the two accounts, those 3 games will not show up in the Steam Library, can't get the cards and cannot make screenshots? I have to purchase every single one from China to Russia to Steam again, to use this feature? Sorry if I'm misunderstand something, English isn't my native language.

They will show up on your library if you add them as non-steam. You wont be able to get cards. You can make screenshots if the overlay works (but again, some games wont work properly until you find some workaround).

If you want cards, you WILL need to get them on steam, and the overlay will work without any workarounds.

Wonderful...Steam needs Uplay to play these games, but gives nothing in reverse. I hoped i could play those ubi gifts on steam but surely never will buy them twice:/

If you make the overlay work you can still make screenshots\videos of it just fine.

But things like cards, achievements and cloud save are only when you buy on steam. But uplay games dont offer achievements and cloud saving on newer game on steam anyway, they have their own version on uplay.

No.
Steam doesn't offer any portability options.
GoG and Origin are the only ones doing anything like that. GoG with GoG connect and Origin with steam games giving you origin keys as well.

Owning games in other platforms won't give you ownership of them on Steam.
Thank the monopolies and lack of regulation on digital goods for that.
