Steam tags are usually not really reliable since everybody can add them, and most games are riddled with blatantly wrong tags or are missing the right ones completely. For the latter, there are several userscripts that include something similar, I think one of the most popular ones, ESGST, also includes this feature - but there's also a lot of other scripts which do something like that.

Currently the only way I see to hide games that I don't own is to add them one by one to the hidden list. Perhaps this is more complex than it's worth but I think a hidden list for specific game tags would make it easier for people to find games they're genuinely interested in. For example, I'm not a big fan of games with pixel graphics, but there are a lot of them given away on here. If I could hide all games that have that tag, it would be easier for me to find games that I am interested in.
On a related note I think it'd be nice to show the steam rating and/or description for a game directly on the gift page, and if users want more info (reviews, etc) they can go to steam.
