I have been using this lappy only for the past 3-4 years and it has always worked perfectly (except this one time when I had to replace its display chip coz it was fried), and for the past couple of weeks its been giving me a lotta problems.

At first, only sometimes the screen used to black but then when I tried to boot it up, display worked okay till Starting Windows (I have Win7) and then the screen went in red and bluish lines and then blacked out. I am pretty sure that its not a display problem with screen coz the screen and windows works absolutely fine in safe mode. It even once or twice showed that my video driver crashed sometimes (in safe mode). So I decided to format it and reinstall win7. I did so 4-5 days ago after which it worked perfectly. I had installed steam and was happily using it again, but then when I installed video driver and launched dota2, and started a new match, it worked ok for 10-15 min. Then in mid-match it froze and when I restarted it, the same problem occured x_x

Please tell me how I can fix it. I am currently posting this from safe mode. Is it just a coincidence that the problem came back with dota2? I have been playing dota2 for 1 year and this has never happened before.

Thank you...

Sounds like something temperature related. Try to measure your CPU/GPU Temp with something like speedfan.
If it is Temperature related it is quite possible that your thermal grease went missing. I had a few cases where the grease actually became solid and slipped out between the gpu/cpu and the heatsink: Get some thermal grease and (re-)apply it to your cpu and/or gpu.

The cooler grills are probably blocked with dust and stuff. Either open it and clean yourself, or find an air spray and blow it a bit. If you feel you may break something, find a friend or a shop to do it for you.

I cant beleive this cause thats exactly happened to me about a month ago and exactly in dota2. Well I searched internet and asked about it, lot of guys said that the cause is temperature and your fan isnt working properly. I was pretty sure that my fan is ok cause i could play lots of other games ( like mw3 & ... ) for hours without any problem. So at last I went to some random shops and asked for cleaning the cooler and inside the laptop. It doesnt cost much but guess what? after that It's working perfectly again! so i guess maybe dota uses cpu and gpu more than other games ( this seems funny cause the game doesnt require much ram and graphic compared to other games )which if the cooler doesnt work properly, lots of problems will happen... So thats my story hope it helps ;)
