If Support says you have to deliver the key to the winner, it doesn't matter what he/she said or did. You do it, or you get suspended for creating "fake giveaways".

I guess whitelist-only giveaways are the only way to go...

So the above whitelist giveaways (in strikethrough links) have ended, but I'm having pretty good experience with Level 4 invite-only giveawys, so let's see if Level 3 invite-only works well too:

Edit: To clarify, the phrase "taking the Not Received" relates to intentionally not delivering a key to the winner because of their conduct. It was brought up in the forum in the past as an option, I just want to let people know once and for all that it's not.

Edit #2: To those who aren't on my whitelist, it's not late too join. Check out this whitelist recruit thread to see if you meet the criteria :-)

Edit #3: Unfortunately I don't have any good news to share about this issue, but I would like to ensure people are aware of it and have 9 more giveaways to share here. This time they're not limited to my whitelist :-)

Does it really matter with so many games in your library and so many giveaways won and sent?

you shouldn't judge people like that

I'm not judging people (though BrianFarnet below does have a good point). Just a bit curious. In any case, welcome to my whitelist and sorry if what I wrote came off as a tease. It does seem a bit tasteless now that I read it again.

On a related note - in the relatively short time where I traded games, I didn't even bother looking what people with hundreds of trades had to offer or request, assuming that anything I have to offer they've already traded for or have no interest in.

A few bits of wisdom did the trick ;-)

But seriously, the number of games in the library isn't part of what I consider as a good profile, nor are the total number of sent or won.

I turned to whitelist gifting after experiencing just 2 giveaways. too many shady entries in a public giveaways.

I had a bad experience with a winner of my GA once, but I gave him the game because thems are the rules.
However, the rules don't forbid you to find out where he lives via Google, dressing in a raincoat and an Obama mask and stare into his bedroom window at night while meowing. In the end, he learned his lesson and I got to do what I like to do. So I will continue to make public GAs.

I accept these are the rules, and the only reasonable solution I see now is whitelist giveaways. It's reasonable, but it prevents me from doing public GAs (which I'd like to do too).

A better solution would be to allow giveaway creators to take some hit for not delivering, but not suspend them. For example require them to (1) keep the key for the game until the winner cleans up his/her rap sheet, (2) not have another giveaway of the same game until the disputed giveaway is resolved, and (3) grant them no CV (which is obvious). This should only apply to games marked as Not Received where the key was not delivered intentionally, not when a key was delivered but the winner claims it doesn't work.

I think you're raising some good points all over this thread.
I haven't actually given it much of a thought at all, my post was a lame joke. Apologies.

Nothing to apologize about. I did have a chuckle, but no counter-joke to share :-)

Whitelist works for sure, but so does having a higher level requirement. That naturally picks out the ones who have been more generous, and while it's not fool proof, it work well enough.

But thanks for hearting me! <3

So if i understand it correctly, i can get a suspension for not delivering a game to a winner, if i have my reasons...ex. winner is threating me like a idiot etc?!

Yes, but if you can prove threats I'd expect that user to be kicked from the site permanently. But I expect many things, so don't count on it...

Bittersweet bump:

I have no good news to share about the issue, but I did add 9 more GAs to the OP (L3+). Enjoy, and feel free to voice your opinion on the subject if you haven't already.

I guess adding "(UPDATED)" to the title wasn't sufficient for people to notice the GAs. Let's try to be more explicit...
