Which RAM is the better option?
and Corsair are RGBs so also a bit more expensive, compared to "normal" chips.

I am using 8gb right now and the only place where I see issues is in some new unoptimized games and sometimes when I want to keep chrome running while playing heavy games. I assume 16gb is plenty hence why I don't know if I need 32gb.

Did you check if these RAMs are officially supported from your Mobo?
General advise if you just want to play games 16GB Ram is more than enough, for Streaming, multiple Threads etc 32GB is better, but than your CPU is not the best for this case.

I'm using B360-h Gaming, the kingston 32gb is listed as supported in the memory support pdf while the corsair is not listed. I guess it's the rgb that looks tempting since I bought case with rgb fans and rgb cpu cooler.

better use the supported Ram. but i know your feeling..i recently bought also RGB Rams, RGB Fans, RGB Motherboard, RGB GPU, RGB CPU-Cooler and a Fractal Meshify Case, but after some days the blinking was annoying and i banned the PC under my table...so next time i save the extra money for RGB.... but the more FPS through RGB are insane ;)

yes prices are skyrocking.. i just bought a 32 GB DDR 4 3600 Mhz ) Kit Corsair Vengeance white RGB for 209€

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/why-is-ram-so-cheap/
“We don’t see the current low price of memory being the new normal,” Ben Miles of Chillblast said. “As profits fall in DRAM due to abundance, factories switch focus back to flash, so we can expect peak demand in Q4 to see rising prices once again.”

interesting, i had the feeling its all rising..thx

Intel don't need that fast ram and 32gb is to much for your needs.
Check if you can get a Crucial Ballistix Kit with 16GB (2*8gb) it should not cost more than 80€.
Maybe buy online from amazon (they ship to bulgaria)

I was thinking the same, 32 might be way more than what I need, but that could be future proof if I don't upgrade in the next few years except for getting a new GPU.

hey.. if you are from bulgaria, is there any good website or place to build a pc that you can recommend? i'm not bulgarian but i do live here (:
Comment has been collapsed.
nah sorry.
I was in bulgaria 3 weeks ago and I loved all the nature but I am from germany.
But like I said: you can order all your hardware from Amazon or other places (amazon takes 10€ for shipping) in germany or west-eu. From what I saw when I was in bulgaria prices for hardware are much higher than in euwest.
And you should def. build your PC by yourself ;) it's not that hard and you can't do that much wrong. Here are a lot of people that will help you and there are millions of tutorials on youtube.

Thanks for the advice, I'm planning to do the same actually, since I got a good job in here, I'm going to build pc by myself and I can't wait for that :D I would like to compare the prices in bg and amazon.. since I don't understand bulgarian or russian, it's kinda hard to do it. btw shipping is cheaper than I expected, I might use amazon more.

and the RGB
Seriously? I had to buy some RAM, for my last upgrade and I was kinda shocked how hard it is to find a "normal" set of RAM sticks, that doesn't sound like some freaking rocket launcher, with fancy design and led lighting. In the end I picked a 2x8GB kit Patriot Viper 3200 for €85, simply because it was on sale and the other options weren't any less crazy. At least it doesn't have RGB, I still don't understand why someone would explicitly want RGB: if you want fancy lights, just buy some X-Mas lighting ;-)
Of the two options you linked I'd choose the HyperX, because in relation to size it seems much cheaper. Then again, 16GB should be enough for almost everything, so maybe pick some 16GB kit for around €80-90?

I know! Case windows and RGB lighting seems to be all the rage, along with ridiculous heat spreaders - like memory mohawks, and it's getting hard to find memory without them.
I go for whatever low-profile memory I can find and specifically look for cases without windows - I'm looking to run my PC while leaving clearance for a CPU heatsink, not make a fashion statement. The only light show I'm interested in is the one playing on my monitor.

For gaming:
8GB - Not enough (yeah, yeah, in some cases it will be enough, but in many many many more, it won't)
16GB - Sweet spot, just right (for now at least)
32GB - This is really for that monster build, where you splurge on everything. Because when you do everything is so overkill so why not the RAM too, right?! And in such a build the extra cost for the RAM is hardly worth to mention as everything else is so steep anyway.

Agreed, I got 8 and my sometimes, my pc is like : https://youtu.be/elueA2rofoo?t=105

The Kingston HyperX is 40% cheaper per GB and probably faster. They are both 2666 Mhz, but the Kingston has lower timings. I don't know too much about timings, but the Corsair is rated at a CAS Latency of 16 while the Kingston is 13 (lower is faster).
The Corsair says it is tested at 16-18-18-35 and the Kingston is tested at 13-15-15. I don't know why Kingston doesn't list the last number or if it will even run at those speeds on all computers because it is listed as an XMP profile, but that is what they say it is tested to run at. They also have a second XMP profile of 12-14-14 shown here.

According to my motherboard support pdf
HyperX HX426C13PB3K2/32 4*16GB DS Hynix 13-15-15-35 1.35 DDR4-2666
So on paper the kingston is the better choice. I have always used kingston and I have always been pleased with them.
I can't find benchmarks on the internet comparing 13 and 16 latency on the same frequency though.

I noticed the Corsair runs 16-18-18-35 at 1.2v while the Kingston is 17-17-17 at 1.2v and bumps the voltage to 1.35 for the XMP speeds. I'm not sure if the Corsair has an XMP profile or if you could get it to run tighter timings at a higher voltage.

It depends on your use case. I like both Corsair and Kingston as brands, and have had great experiences with both.
Right now, for gaming, I consider 16GB a minimum (8GB already causes performance issues in some games). It's the price / performance sweet spot.
32GB is nice if you've got a bunch of other stuff open that you don't want to close out of - like if you have Chrome open with a couple dozen tabs all the time, and don't want to have to close out of it when you play a memory hungry game.
I would recommend getting faster 3200Mhz memory if you can - it improves frame times in some games which results in a smoother gaming experience.

Thank you. I cannot go for more than 2666 ram though because my motherboard doesn't support higher frequency so the only thing I can do is get lower latency for better performance. It does have 4 slots though but dual channel works better than quad channel from what I've read. I'm leaning towards 16gb since I rarely feel memory hungry while using the PC with 8gb.

I've had no issues running memory that's rated faster than what my Asus motherboards support, but fair enough.
Given the choices you presented, I'd go with the 32GB option just because it's twice the memory for only a little more money. But if it was me, I'd look for a cheaper 16GB option - I would be shocked if you couldn't find a Corsair 16GB kit for less. Something like this or this but from your region. And don't worry if the memory is faster, even if you can't run it at stated speeds you'll be able to run it at your motherboard's max speed but with lower latency timings.

Upto you (or the quality of the motherboard I guess) whether you use guaranteed or hopeful timings. Take the baseline speed (2666mhz) and divide by the headline timing number (CL13). Bigger number wins. Rough and ready way to compare ram sticks but it really is that simple, the reason you don't find reviews with benchmarks that go into anymore details is cause the margins beyond that are so tiny beyond that its not worth doing.
Enjoy your new toy :)

Hi, SG
I've been browsing for RAM sticks all day on the sites in my country. I managed to sort out these 2 kits out of all the things I found.
What I am looking for is performance in games. I use i5 9400f cpu. I am guessing the only reason to get the Corsair kit is for the lower price and the RGB, looking at the specs the HyperX seems faster but I am unable to find any benchmarks to see what the difference might be.
Any advice would be appreciated and this might help other people who come across it who are trying to choose RAM kits for themselves.
