Dark Souls wasn't ever part of the GJA, it was a special very-limited-quantity side promo for European users that was handled terribly and thus made public to users of all regions, resulting in massive over-entry. As such, that matter is completely unrelated.
Rather, if you're looking for an issue related to the previous GJAs, you can fixate on the times that the GMG $1 store credit refund didn't work on GJA games, resulting in them costing more than promised. As far as I recall, they didn't actually run out of stock at any point during a GJA, though? I can't say I'm especially certain on that point, however. Even if they did, running out of stock during a free promo isn't abnormal, so it isn't as if it'd be something to truly criticize, regardless of how disappointing the result may be.

I use Google books for all my e reading. Is there an app we need? Or are we downloading a large .pdf file?

It wasn't exactly a fat year aside from some games like Phantom Doctrine, God Of War and Spiderman PS4. Thankfully 2019 looks much better with all those early releases like Metro Exodus, DMC5 and Days Gone.

those PDF is way to big, so inefficient...
i know some game magz with boatload of images and still pretty small compared of this thing (never read inside it anyway)
