I sometimes see in my timeline a spike of people buying a certain game, to find they are getting removed, and i am a collector too in that aspect, so i thought why not create a special thread for it, so other people can know too?
This thread is only going to be about agames facing direct pending deletion on concrete information, not speculations on possible licensing stuff, there are other places for that. By all means if you find something with concrete info about a pending deletion, let me know so i can add it.

When i started this, for months 1-2 weeks could go by without even 1 removal, now it's daily. :p

Damn that really sucks. Some of those games look actually really decent, with passionate artwork put into them. Giving no notice is evil.

Actually it was pending since march: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1150590/discussions/0/4299320351880338106/
Perhaps more games will be going in the future.

Some go for 10 euro on resellers (until they catch on) or 20 euro.

Was there any actual notice provided by the publisher tho, or was it just fans reading between the lines? That thread also seems more about the Adult Swim Games, too (which is only Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time here, right?)

No nothing from the publisher, it was also more this thread and others just guessing: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/T6OxE/games-published-by-adult-swim-at-risk-of-removal-in-the-next-60-days-edit-4-games-getting-removed

Basically most thought then anything could get removed already at any time.

Games from adult swim games having a chance on getting removed have been going for months, this happened a few weeks ago along with some others (without any notice).

Supposedly Cartoon Network abruptly pulled all their games. Adventrure time ones are probably gone too

Bushfires: Animal Rescue, Im UFO and Akari and the Abyss are gone.

I wonder why they gave a discount on Bushfire until the 17th of January, but pulled it today. It is not the first time that a removal happened before the discount ended.

Wait, Steam pulls legally orphaned games? Like, I know many companies shut down their games when closing, but thought games stayed in perpetuity on the platform.

RIP Squize.

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine if a game was developed and published by one guy who didn't incorporate his business, the rights of the game would transfer to his estate. Then I guess whoever inherits it could choose to re-list the game on Steam...but there's no guarantee his heir would be interested in doing such a thing, especially if the game didn't sell all that much. Or his heir could formally release the game into the public domain.

Stuff like this is why there are abandonware sites.

No, Valve doesn't automatically, but like Blando explained, a potential heir could ask for delisting, because they don't have the knowledge or don't want to deal with it.

Doesn't buying this game give money to the thieves who listed it on Steam?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If it's stolen, that seems so yeah.

I am just the messenger for whoever wants to buy it or not, i wrote it next to the op, it's written in the reviews, it's for each individual to decide what they want to with it.

Also if they can even get their $100 out of it.

It is definitely free advertising for said thieves. Not such a simple hand washing really. But it is what it is.

Yeah, but isn't linking to one of many games (early access or not) that devs abandoned, not immoral (and in a way also stealing) either anyway? Then i have to weigh each game and i can't post half of it.

They're not even close to the same thing. The only person who potentially suffers in the event of abandoned games is the person deciding to purchase it. And they already know it's abandoned when they decide to purchase it. Whereas with a stolen game, you are literally rewarding an actual criminal by buying the stolen product, and knowledge of that beforehand actually makes it worse.

You can't wash your hands of aiding and abetting criminal activities when you willfully aid and abet a criminal.

But you're gonna do what you're gonna do. Some people have less of a problem with assisting criminals than other people, I guess. It is what it is.

Some devs run into financial, personal problems etc, you can't deny some scam people on purpose with EA and the essence is both are theft, there are no grades in it.

And this post is just comparing it to i am saying to several people on the street hey around the corner you can find a truck where you can buy some tv's that having "fallen of them", would that said person be arrested? Offcourse not.

I specifically said so in the OP and anyone visited that website it would say with red letters how negative review bombed it got (and it's good to read reviews anyway on whatever game you buy) and yeah i do what i gonna do.
You make it like i am getting them 100-1000 sales with this, if any, so active this site isn't anymore, let alone who read my threads, let alone someone actually deciding to make such a purchase.

I'm not making it seem like anything. This thread exists solely to inform people of their last opportunity to buy games before they are delisted or purchase disabled. By posting this specific game, knowing full well it is on Steam illegally and that anybody purchasing it is assisting the criminals, you are factually and willfully aiding and abetting criminals, no matter how you attempt to justify it. That's how it is. The fact that you don't like somebody pointing it out is entirely on you. It is well within your purview to not act as such, but you've chosen a different path. And that is also entirely on you.

No, I don't care if you or anyone is pointing things out (there are no site rules), nor if someone buys it or not. I am just not going to be the moral police here.

Why didn't you speak out about "https://store.steampowered.com/app/3082770/BombMaze/ (Maybe due Bomberman/Dyna Blaster ripoff/theft?)" No because this game is just more known/populair or whatever.
How many (asset) stealing flip offs hasn't there been too, and i probably linked to other questionable examples in the past too.

Nice attempt at deflecting via whataboutisms. It does not absolve you of your complicity. You have the ability to do the right thing. Whether you choose to or not remains to be seen. Have a blessed day/night.

Not sure what you talk about what ifs/about as i clearly did link to games that were asset flips in the past and even still bombmaze that's also dubious, and again that's also stealing in another different way.

You probably also don't have the "collectors mind" for who the thread is about and i think most of them don't care about any morals behind them and get anything as long if the price is right.
I would have gotten this if the price was lower, the price as is, just not worth it for me (i am already sighing at the abundance of removed games recently which wasn't as much as when i started this).

Have a nice day.
