Ditto here. ;(
According to Mark, they locked themselves up in their studio drafting up the new puzzles and suchlike, but the main sticking point turned out to be the poor quality of the outsourced code and the fact that the game was hand-drawn (with Lucas Arts going 3D with their Grim Fandango around that time). In hindsight, that latter point might have actually worked in their favour - but it's history now.

Oh yeah, i remember this one, this game was some kind of urban legend for gamers in ex-USSR region. There is interesting article about company that created it on DTF.RU (if you know russian) - http://dailytelefrag.com/articles/read.php?id=50709

I honestly have no recollection of how I came to know about this game. I do remember watching the (incomplete) 'longplays' on YouTube a few years back, though, and thinking to myself that the game actually looked pretty neat and how nice it would be to see it released. So it's kind of a Christmas-come-early situation right now. ;j
Ta for the linky, I love how in-depth that article is, with input from the ex-staffers and the like. I had no idea about Animation Magic's involvement in the Nascar series by Psygnosis (arguably the best Nascar sim to date?). The CD-i Zelda games (I think we can all agree that those were an abomination) - those I did know about; and I think there are traces of the same animation style in some of the cutscenes and in-engine animated sequences in Warcraft Adventures: flat-shaded faces, overly articulated facial expressions, jagged body movement - that sort of thing. Thankfully, most of the game keeps to the dark fantasy style and remains relatively consistent, so I'm quite happy with what I got.

It was far from a releasable version - so don't hope that there will be a leak like this...

I don't care, I (would have) loved that game. I think it's one of the few games I was really hyped/excited about, followed all of it's progress and then they cancelled it :( It was also exclusively for consoles, so it's even more unlikely. A man can dream though, a man can dream.

Haven't seen any mention of this anywhere on SG, so here goes. Apparently, someone got their hands on the so-called pre-release version of Warcraft Adventures and leaked the whole game along with some design docs and internal memos of the animation studio. Grab the whole thing here while it hasn't been DMCAed into oblivion.
I'm playing the thing myself right now in Windows 10, so I can confirm that it works. The only thing I did was change the Save directory in Book.ini and put the ddraw.dll from DDrawCompat into the game's root folder.
According to Mark Kern, this release is the final version done by the studio that Blizzard outsourced the game to - which the guys from Blizzard didn't quite like and decided to fix (read: redesign almost completely). Mark calls this version a 'nightmare'. Being an hour into the game, I'll readily admit that the game has some major problems with its puzzles (a hello from the 90s?) and the tone - with childishly quirky gnomes against the background of rotting orc corpses with spears sticking out of their heads. But hey, it's a point-and-clicky with Thrall in it. Yay. ;j
