Since Steam Trading Cards got released yesterday it's time to share our current project with you:

www.SteamCardExchange.net

SteamCardExchange.net is a website designed to provide helpful information for users to collect Steam Trading Cards and its related content. We offer a few neat features, come and take a look for yourself!

  • SteamCardExchange.net - Showcase - Our showcase features all the different Badges, Emotes, Backgrounds, Cards and Artworks that get released. Instead of browsing through the buggy community Market and skipping all the pages to see which Emote you definitely need just take a look here.
Ever wondered if upgrading your Badge will make it look more or less cool? Make sure to not do any permanent mistakes ...

  • Ever noticed how every card has a unique, high resolution Artwork behind it? You can access it by clicking on the cards in your inventory. You don't have them all? No worries, we got you covered! Click on the cards (for HD-Resolution click the cards name) in our showcase and the Artwork will appear. Backgrounds have explicit SD and HD Links.

  • Pricelists! - Planning on increasing your level and unsure which badge to craft? Check our pricelists to reduce your spendings to a minimum! SteamCardExchange.net - Badge Pricelist | SteamCardExchange.net - Foil Badge Pricelist

  • We feature fair trading Bots. I've linked them here in the past and people keep referring to them as the last fair trading Bots to use!
You can do 1:1 trades for the same game and, depending on their credits value, even in between games. Every card has a credit value which is calculated using the current market prices and recent sales to display the true value they are beeing bought and offered for. They only vary from this if you want to buy the last card on stock, their value increases by 1.5x.
An "How to Use" Guide can be found here: SteamCardExchange.net - Guide
Check the Bot's current inventory and card prices here: SteamCardExchange.net - Inventory | SteamCardExchange.net - Pricelist

Our steam group CardTrades has over 30.000 members and quite an active chat with trades going on all the time and help in case you encounter any problem. Join us today to explore the new Trading Card content and trade for your missing cards :-)

If you have any suggestions for us feel free to leave them either here or in our group, I'll make sure to check this Thread regularly!

To clarify I'll answer a few commonly asked questions:

  • What are credits and how do you calculate them?
A credit is basically the currency for our bot. We track the last sales of every game and the current price they are offered for and dynamically calculate the average price for a card of this set.
If you trade in a card with a 20credit value we basically pay you what others would have payed on the market on average. You can use these credits to trade out cards by spending your credits. It's an automated system and we don't change prices manually. You can always take out as much as you've put in. You could even store up to 100 credits for your next trade (super useful if you trade in a 30 credits card and want to take out a 20 credits card).

Bot #1 is ignoring me, according to Steam :(

It happens from time to time. Simply join our groupchat where the Bot's ID'le 24/7 and use the commands "/join" etc. in a private chat window. Easy as this!

While you're waiting you can trade with real humans in our chat as well ;)

Is it possible to have two trade windows open? Or at least to accept a gift while a trade window is open?

Because then you could make 1 "Inventory-Bot" (IB), that stores all the cards and multiple "Front-End-Bots" (FEB) that have no cards and that the users can trade with. Whenever I use the "add cardname" command on a FEB he gets the card traded/gifted by the IB, so he can actually add it in the trade window. If the trade is canceled the FEB has to retrade/regift the cards it to the IB.

With this system you could add more bots (and thus shrink the queue waittime) and especially I don't have to check for every single card if it is overstocked or the last card for one of the bots (and then choose the other bot of course).

But otherwise great work :)! Keep it up!

We're working on a new trading system with one central inventory. Right now we're super busy with keeping up with all those new Games and content and the massive increase in usern but we'll get there eventually!

To fight the queue we've added another 2 Bot's, making it 4 in total now. We've had to split our cards tho, each bot has roughly 600 Cards now (we have ~2.500 stocked in total). We hope this helps as a temporary solution :)

Nice. It doesn't look like the text-based list is updated to show the other two's inventory, by the way.

Sorry about the inconvenience! Since the sale started the number of unique visitors quadrupled itself and especially during peak times (new games get added, changing deals) there is a massive amount of hits at the same time ...

We've noticed it as well and already ordered a new server, but it needs a few days to get installed and ready to go.
Dont worry, after the sale it will be as awesome as ever and even during the sale it will get better :)

I can deal with the occasional hiccup for such an awesome service! Thanks for all your work on the bots and your support in this forum.

Well snap, great timing for a service that is needed!

Edit: Well good concept but seems to be down... heh I'm sure the server is overloaded given the sale.

The time thing is very irritating,, Just lost 45 credits because i had 30 seconds left, and the moment i pressed ''trade'' it told me i'd lose 45 credits and keep 10.. That's very nice to know -.- I offloaded all my 30 credits unreal cards at once and thought I could spend my time picking cards i'd like in return. Is there a way i could get my credits back please? I'm not exactly pleased with this, nor with the way the system is obscure about your time until it's too late.

I don't mind the time limit, but in the same vein, why only ten credits? Bacpack.tf bots keep 1500... Yes, I know they have bigger servers, but right now, I see absolutely no reason to use Steamcardexchange over backpack.tf, but plenty of reasons for backpack.tf over steamcardexchange.

The text version has a few issues that I've noticed.

If there are different games with the same card name, it counts both as the amount.
For example, Fortix and Fortix 2 both have "Black Dragon" and when Fortix 2 only had one, it displays as having three because the other game had two.

Also, Sleeping Dogs and Retro City Rampage don't show their cards' value since they have a TM symbol at the end of their name, which gets changed to a question mark. I guess it has something to do with that.
