Either there is something flawed with your value calculation algorithm or else you're not telling us the truth about it.
For example, the cheapest 123 Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby card on the market right now is $0.65. The others are even more expensive, all the way up to $0.99 for one particular card. And yet your proposed average valuation is $0.50. Considering the current values (which are not even remotely close, so it can't be argued that these cards all happened to sell that far under the average recently), and considering that other card bots have not calculated an average price for Ugly Baby cards below $0.80 in days, if not more than a week, it seems rather suspicious.
I could make similar arguments with the values of Anodyne, Defender's Quest, Guns of Icarus Online, They Bleed Pixels, and probably some other games (though there are admittedly some games where the valuation looks accurate).

You do not understand the point of what I described. He claims that there is a 1:1 correlation of pennies to credits, however I have demonstrated that in at least some situations there is not. In fact he may be giving you considerably less than market value for certain cards.
This suggests either deception on his part or a defect in his program. Either way it should be addressed and has nothing to do with buying vs selling prices.
Comment has been collapsed.
1:1 means card value within same game, one card in, one card out, not exact par with market prices. Like OP says, credits are averaged over 25 sales and rounded off to 5 cents, and take note, I am under impression these are eurocents not dollar cents. Which makes 50 credits be more or less equal 50 eurocents which is 65 USD dolar cents.
Would need OP confirmation on the € vs $ but I strongly believe I'm right xD Because the credits match up € prices quite nicely.

Yes, and his post also says, "1 credit equals 1 penny / cent on the community market."
Even with rounding, some of the values are not even close. Euro cents would not seem to explain why some games seem to follow the 1 credit = 1 cent (US) pattern while others do not.
Again, this has nothing to do with buying vs selling.

One explanation could be, this is based on actual sales not on current market prices. Some card may be expensive compared to others and may not sell that well because of that, so these do not contribute to the calculated price in credits as much as the cheaper, readily selling cards from the set.
Comment has been collapsed.
I understand that, but I explained in detail one example where even assuming that there had been recent sales for 5 or 10 cents under the current lowest priced item for every item from that set, it would not explain the valuation. Furthermore, no fluctuation of that sort was noted in other card bots which also track the average selling price of cards.

Much appreciated feedback! That's exactly what the Bot's are intended for. Trade your double cards for other ones and get one step closer towards your desired badges!

Sorry about that, but fairness results in popularity .... ;)

This might not be possible, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway... I love the showcase, but I go to it to look at backgrounds and emoticons to see if there's any I'd like, which means I need to open each game that I want to look at separately, I think it would be nice if not only was there a showcase for each game, but a showcase for emotes, one for backgrounds, and maybe one for badges (so if people want to feature a particular one, they know which game to focus on).
Comment has been collapsed.
Sounds like a great idea. One page to compare all existing emotes or backgrounds and decided which game to focus on or which content to buy on the market.
Well, what more to say than: Stay tuned, we're working on it! :-)

If it wouldn't work, I wouldn't have made this Threadv ;-)
Glad that you like it and thanks for your positive feedback!

There is so much wallpaper potential behind it. People just have to know and be told about. :D

You can save those credits for as long as you want, absolutely no problem at all! We reduced the amount of stored credits from 50 to 10 a couple of days ago and forced users to use them in their next trade, but that was a one-time only.
You don't have to spend them in your next trade, if you don't touch them they will remain and can be used in any of your future trades!

Wow, wow. I love this site already, just because I can view the background and badges and everything in a bigger scale then in the Community Market. I was going to save my keys and refs for other things, but I might get some CK2 stuff anyway because this looks so great... lol.

That was exactly our intention. There is such a great artwork behind Wallpapers and Cards and so many people miss out, it's a shame! You have to own a card or craft your cards into a badge to have access to the artwork on steam, but there is no way of telling beforehand. Glad it helped you and convinced you to get some content you like! :)

Well, lucky you! Check in regularly to see if someone dropped another FOIL ;)

I've used this system quite a bit,
Big fan of the queue system update, just prepare your trade before hand and wait for the bot to message you.
My only major gripe is that they don't tell you the stock of a particular card once you add it to your trade
Someone managed to snag the 2nd to last card of a set right before me, I was moving quick and accidentally paid 1.5x price because it was the last one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks for pointing this out, we might add an extra line to give you an extra hint of the higher costs.
Something along "This is my last <cardname>. I will charge you 1.5x it's base value." Will suggest this to the team later!

I, too, have made a similar mistake, only mine was trying to do a 1:1 for a card in the same game, but it turned out that the card I was trading in had gotten up to 8, and I accidentally used my 10 credits to pay the difference when I wouldn't have, otherwise.
What I would recommend is, if the the person is either trading in a card that is overstock, or getting a card that is understock, have the bot give a warning when the person readies up, and require a prompt from the user before it, itself, readies up; something like, "[CARD] is [UNDER/OVER] stocked, which changes the card's cost. Please type 'OK' to confirm that you wish to complete this trade." and give some more time before cancelling the trade.
The system is great, and I'm sure I simply missed the warning since the timer was close to cancelling the session. It's a bit too easy of a mistake to make, though, since you're so rushed for time, and it's real hard to know what exactly you're wanting to trade with any certainty until you reload the inventory list as soon as it's your turn, wait for the page to load, check to make sure that the item is still in stock, and check to make sure that the card that you're trading in isn't overstocked... which I failed to do. All the while the timer is counting down.
It's an understandable necessity, but man is it rough when I'm on my old, slow laptop instead of my desktop.

Hey, thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately we are limited and restricted by Steam and can't realize everything we would like to. We do alert you in the chat in case your card is over stocked already, if you're in a rush and skip it there is not much we can do about it. Sorry about that. What we could do is PM you that alert in the main chat with our Bot as well but if you have to hurry that much you wouldn't read it anyway I assume.
Take your time next trade and maybe reduce the amount of cards to one set or write them down before, so you don't have to look them up during the trade.
Using our Text-Only inventory does help as well, it loads much faster. See it for yourself: www.SteamCardExchange.net - Text-based Inventory

Hey, great news!
We totally got your point and added a new alert. The Bot will send a message in the trade chat now if you're about to take out the last card. Hope it helps to reduce such mistakes :)
"Attention! This was the last card, price is 1.5x as normal!"

Just added the bots to try and swap out some cards... 332 people ahead of me for #1 and 219 people in #2 O.o
Any chance of another bot or something while the sale is going on? That's a real long wait.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, sorry about that huge queue. It was at 20 - 30 people before the sale started but by adding ~20 Games to the system in only 2 days and making it the "big feature" this summer sale peoples interested increased heavily.
We're working on way to fix it but don't expect it too soon! :-/
We're super busy with adding all the Badges, Emotes and Backgrounds. Steam is just throwing work at us.

Yeah, the queue is ridiculously long! Sorry about that but we're super busy with adding all that new content that gets released every day.
We're working on improvements right now, please stay patient and give us some time :)

I finally got the front of a queue and the bot opened a trade window, only for it not to load anything (I assume as Steam's servers are working overtime at the mo). I tried to invite the bot to trade, but it had moved on even though our initial trade window never loaded. I was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiissed!

Since Steam Trading Cards got released yesterday it's time to share our current project with you:
www.SteamCardExchange.net
SteamCardExchange.net is a website designed to provide helpful information for users to collect Steam Trading Cards and its related content. We offer a few neat features, come and take a look for yourself!
SteamCardExchange.net - Showcase - Our showcase features all the different Badges, Emotes, Backgrounds, Cards and Artworks that get released. Instead of browsing through the buggy community Market and skipping all the pages to see which Emote you definitely need just take a look here.
Ever wondered if upgrading your Badge will make it look more or less cool? Make sure to not do any permanent mistakes ...
Ever noticed how every card has a unique, high resolution Artwork behind it? You can access it by clicking on the cards in your inventory. You don't have them all? No worries, we got you covered! Click on the cards (for HD-Resolution click the cards name) in our showcase and the Artwork will appear. Backgrounds have explicit SD and HD Links.
Pricelists! - Planning on increasing your level and unsure which badge to craft? Check our pricelists to reduce your spendings to a minimum! SteamCardExchange.net - Badge Pricelist | SteamCardExchange.net - Foil Badge Pricelist
We feature fair trading Bots. I've linked them here in the past and people keep referring to them as the last fair trading Bots to use!
You can do 1:1 trades for the same game and, depending on their credits value, even in between games. Every card has a credit value which is calculated using the current market prices and recent sales to display the true value they are beeing bought and offered for. They only vary from this if you want to buy the last card on stock, their value increases by 1.5x.
An "How to Use" Guide can be found here: SteamCardExchange.net - Guide
Check the Bot's current inventory and card prices here: SteamCardExchange.net - Inventory | SteamCardExchange.net - Pricelist
Our steam group CardTrades has over 30.000 members and quite an active chat with trades going on all the time and help in case you encounter any problem. Join us today to explore the new Trading Card content and trade for your missing cards :-)
If you have any suggestions for us feel free to leave them either here or in our group, I'll make sure to check this Thread regularly!

To clarify I'll answer a few commonly asked questions:
A credit is basically the currency for our bot. We track the last sales of every game and the current price they are offered for and dynamically calculate the average price for a card of this set.
If you trade in a card with a 20credit value we basically pay you what others would have payed on the market on average. You can use these credits to trade out cards by spending your credits. It's an automated system and we don't change prices manually. You can always take out as much as you've put in. You could even store up to 100 credits for your next trade (super useful if you trade in a 30 credits card and want to take out a 20 credits card).
