It also appears on my friend's profiles too.

Except if you click on it, it's way back from 2013

I joined this "Steam Universe" group to see what was going on and I got the badge? No idea why. I noticed it happened to many other people as well.

It's not a proper badge, no exp. You have to complete tasks for it to turn into the badge.

i actually noticed the same because a guy with only 4 badges that random added me have that badge as well, i think that the beta is gonna stand again (or gaben is playing hl3 again and steam is bugged... again...)

Just noticed this as well... Kinda weird. I think I fulfill all of the 4 parts of level one, but only one is highlighted... not sure, maybe I fulfilled that one back in 2013 when this was going on?
