why is there no link to the steam page of a giveaway on the giveaway page?

maybe he did, as Gwarsbane mentioned not all have a link

That is really strange for it to be able to affix a point value to it, yet not have a link to the source.

Some of these are bundles or packages created by the developer and available on Steam, just not for public purchase. That's why the point values can be added.

EDIT: Actually, in the case of the Heist bundle for PAYDAY 2, it's just because it's a bundle with no storefront page. So that's why that happens for that one; if it's a bundle with a game and DLC or something like that, then there's a chance it won't have a link.

What is even more strange in this example, is that it had a link to the steam page on the main page just not on the actual giveaway.

ya seen a few like that. I reported them in the bug section, not sure if anything was done yet, haven't checked the pages.

There are some with the link on the main page, but it doesn't actually work, it just takes you to the steam main page, but none on the giveaway, but there is an actual page for it, just that the 2 are not connecting up for what ever reason.

Because there is links to the steam page from the giveaway? Most have them, some don't due to them being missing in the data base.

There shouldn't be any issues such as that. If the game shows up in the giveaway list when creating a giveaway, then it is in the database for the price, so it should have a link to the store for it. Care to link one that doesn't have it? Never mind, just saw one above commented.

the weird thing is that even the ones that have no link on their page still have one besides their name on main page. it does not always work, but still, this link should still appear on the page as well, I think...

Yes the link was there for the payday example i gave and it worked, i used it to see what was in the bundle before i entered.

The link inside the giveaway page is based on the storefront. There can be multiple links for various stores too. It seems the one on the front page is generated automatically from the app/bundle id without any incidence on it actually having a store page or not.

As mentioned on a similar thread, currently there are no links for packages/other editions on the giveaway pages, only apps. It's not a bug and they might get added in the future.
