Well I know this bug does not influence lots of people but I do need to point it out since it influences me. As far as I understand giveaways are sorted by their ending time having those ending sooner, to appear first. What happens if giveaways end at exactly the same time though? They get lost or repeated between pages.

How does that influence people? Well I have created a group called Simultaneous Giveaways that has had seven events of simultaneous ending giveaways since December 2012. We have several hundreds of giveaways ending at exactly the same time so that bug influences us a lot. This thread has no purpose of advertising the group.

Since it's something probably easy to fix (have giveaways get sort by two columns instead of one), I hope cg notices it and fixes it.

Since it can be considered a bug it should be fixed

The same issue occurs on "View Created" as well.

Did cg fix this? My created pages seem to order the same way every time I refresh now...

I've just noticed this.

I think the best solution (if there would be any fix) would be to change it so giveaways with the exact same ending time are sorted after date/time of creation (instead of the seemingly random order right now - different results show up each time). Makes it easier to find what's new in a list. I would suggest newest = first in the list (closer to the giveaways ending sooner), that would probably be of more help for the users who experience this "bug".

Definitely not just something that messes with SimGives. Like Crossbourne mentioned, often times when I have a lot of GAs ending at the same time, it's difficult to keep track of them due to this.

Would love a behind the scenes secondary sort based on creation time as the data is already there :)

Yes, would be nice if it got fixed.

I'm confused because for me this seems to already be in effect. At least when I use the group or wishlisted parameters, all the SimGive giveaways seem to be presented in a consistent order (that of creation). I use a userscript (SG2.0) with endless scroll so maybe that has something to do with it.

If you look at creation, or go to the group page and click giveaways, you'll get a different result. :-)

It's the same for me, using SG++, no endless scrolling and grid view. I always get the same order.

I didn't get that bug before sg++, and I haven't gotten it since [using normal list view].
so not sure script/script settings is the deciding factor.

:tests:

Nope, still no issues when I toggle scripts off. :X

I've noticed the same thing when I had 200+ GA's ending at the same time. A set sort order for this would be much appreciated.

I'd like to also extend this request to the way users are displayed in groups on SG. They always keep reappearing, making it really hard to check them as a moderator.

would love fix on that as well - and problem is not only with SimGiv - nowadays we have various community events made by users on forums, they get organized and create GAs ending at the same time in form of be it metro train, high level appreciation week, big puzzle event and so on and on. The scale of bug in such events is not as big as in SimGiv, as these usually top few hundreds GAs, not over a 1000, but it is existing problem not only for us but big community events as well.

Sure it's not the biggest problem on the site, but it's also one that appears to be very easilly fixable, so yeah, you got my vote :>

Maybe you use Group filter? It seems to work there...

Nope, I mean the main page with all the giveaways. I just use "hide owned games" filter.

I've been browsing the giveaways from our event like 10 times already and I did not notice and I'm pretty sure I would if that was the case. Not saying I don't believe you, it's just weird... don't know what's the deal...

That's really odd actually, you are the first to say that all simgive giveaways appear fine on main page without filters like group.

On the main page, it works fine. It's just the same as the group page. It just mess up on the Group's own page.

I just noticed they're sorted by the "created time" when they end at the same time. So the most recently created are the last so for me right now at page 25 of all the giveaways. And nothing gets mixed up ;P

So what?

Και πώς ακριβώς θα τις τακτοποιήσεις; Θα βάλεις τις καλύτερες στην αρχή και τις χειρότερες στο τέλος;

I… cannot really understand the issue. And I am saying that as someone who regularly has 30+ giveaways ending at the exact same second on this site.

Permalink

30 may not be noticeable, as they appear at the same site both in your |Created as on SG page. The moment there are multiple pages filled with GAs ending the exact same moment they start switching places ;)

I had 87 ending at once and recently I sent out 600 keys at once for 600 individual giveaways. Still cannot see the problem, honestly, both were completed without any mix-ups or issues tracking each giveaway.

having created a train of roundabout 70 giveaways which included more than 130 games that started and ended at the same time I totally know what you're talking about.
I linked each giveaway to another for a train and noticed the same: The list of created GAs sometimes gets mixed up when changing pages.
It's annoying, but an issue that you normally don't face except you're excessively creating giveaways. Might be an easy fix when adding a "sort by name" after "sort by time" to the system to reduce that effect.
