Am I allowed to create a giveaway for a game that Humble Bundle gave away for free a few weeks a go, even if the key expires in a few days? I just have no use for it as I already have it on Steam.

It should be possible to do so. From what I have heard, even if the page expires, the key is not, so as long as you get the key, you can create a giveaway later.

actually the reverse is true. The key expires but the page does not and as there is no DRM-Free option for this game just having the page doesn't really help anyone.

I've tried it before. Once it hits the expiration date listed its gone doesn't matter if you pulled it off the page already you still gotta activate it before the deadline.

Humble had a time where they made all keys they gave out activated from the date they stated as expired. I guess they might have changed their handling of expiring keys.

just be sure the key doesn't expire before the ga ends + 7 days (so the winner has time to activate it).

You can try making it an invite only and make the time 1 hour and make a post of it. I'm pretty sure the winner will still be online after an hour to activate it.

Will invite only help with my level here? cause if not I'd rather put it on r/FreeGamesOnSteam/

No. Games that were free don't help you to raise your level on steamgifts. It's equal if it's a public, group or invite only giveaway.

It's no CV and you can't guarantee the 7 days. I would just drop the key either in the deals section to the corresponding free game deal or in the orphan key drop thread.

CV?

Normally you gain CV (contributor value) for a giveaway and can raise your steamgifts level to see more and better giveaways. But games that were free don't give any CV. More about that can be found here and here.
