For those who aren't familiar with The Forest, it's an open world FPS survival horror game with some serious graphics to boot. It was greenlit on Steam last June and will be getting an alpha release on May 22nd.

I wish those guys wouldn't do that with their networked sites. Why bother having multiple sites if the content is the same on all of them. It's not a mod.

Also: Unity - a lot of games made in this engine that aren't inherently simplistic tend to be not that great.

"Cannibalistic mutants" are what they're being called. It's not often you see zombies eating each other lol.

Thanks OP, for bringing this game to my attention, looks quite good. In my opinion, it doesn't look anything near like dayz (I'm talking, mechanical/gameplay wise). Maybe Rust, but it seems more like Outlast, with crafting. But the crafting obviously fits the setting. Looks like it will be a great game, but I'll wait til it's fully released. Sad to see it's going early access, especially seeing that it's a single player story based game. I honestly don't see the point in early access, unless they're wanting to put a co-op mode in, or something.

Not too sure about deep or involved the story will be, but I think the early access is just to get some community feedback on basic gameplay mechanics. I guess we'll wait and see what happens on May 22nd.

Give the actual game website dude ! The Forest
Co-op is not planned for the initial release nor multiplayer. They will add it after the Alpha Release. The game will be 15$ on Steam.

I personally am not looking forward to the co-op/multiplayer. You can't really experience horror if you're with a friend lol.

It looks interesting but one thing is in my mind that why you can't climb on the top of a tree...

It's early access, so you never know :P I don't really see a point in climbing trees though. Especially if there are big mutants running around knocking down walls (as seen in the trailer).

Just personaly preference. I think it is pretty safe on top of a tree if they don't notice you are up there. lol
