Yes, but ISP's often refer to the download quota as bandwidth... Not to mention data centres as well as web hosts, email hosts, game server hosts, cloud hosts, VPS and plenty of other server hosts. Bandwidth has gained a new meaning, just like it did 10-15 years ago when it gained the meaning of what it does now.

Unlimited here. Slow as hell, but I can download anything I want (If I have the patience)

My response to this. And yeah, go with an unlimited plan. That will solve your problem.

i used to have 15g / month...that's driving me nuts and i have to download all games on campus...then i switched to 70g/month and much better....

60gb and usually 50kps download speed. It's $30 a month. I get around abusing my workplace internet.

DSL - 300GB a month, unlimited bandwidth in non-peak hours for $50/month its slow internet though cuz they aren't popular in my area, but we have Cable also for $55/month with 80GB and fast speeds. Yes, I have 2 internet providers. I love me some TekSavvy! :)

lol I have to use rogers cause that's the only option....

120GB here... And I always go over, even though I download all my games from on campus. Stupid YouTube and music that destroys everything.

We used to have unlimited here, but that's been gone for a while. We constantly used to go over our cap because the rest of my house loves streaming things online, so we've been constantly upping the speed/cap. I think we're at the highest one available here now, something like 200 or 250GB and 50MB d/l.

I love how everyone's comparing e-peen with the data cap/bandwidth figures, instead of, y'know, answering Mango's question.
To which I'll answer "Where exactly are you?" It's useless to ask for recommended ISP's and/or plans if we don't know what you have available.

Typically if you have wireless internet of some sort (such as satellite), you have a limited amount of data usage. If you go over that limit then they slow you down to dial-up speed until you get more usage (most have a monthly limit, but some are daily).

Depends on where you live. I have comcast residential as well and have unlimited cap.

I have comcast too and I've heard of this 250gb cap...I don't see it anywhere on my bill or my account as to how much I used. My friend who lives like 10 minutes away from me has the 250gb cap...it shows it on his bill...mine however does not and I haven't heard a thing from comcast about my usage ever.

They don't enforce it unless they have complaints about internet speeds or whatever. I've gone over it for multiple consecutive months and nothing's happened, not even an email or automated call. I think they added the cap so if they needed to, they could enforce it without doing something we didn't agree to. It's kinda like any software's terms & conditions.

But do you see your usage on your bill? My friends bill actually shows how much he used...I don't have it anywhere on my bill.

40 GB. Well, that sucks.
In that case it would be cheaper to buy a 1-2 TB portable hard drive and dl stuff somewhere else where it's unlimited.

My Internet usage caps at 40 GB -_-
Hardly enough. I really need to switch ISP cause I went over $70 this month. Who else has same problem as me? And any recommended ISP's?
