They could be painful if they are in to kinky stuff

I can tell you about that time when we couldn't help a user with his support ticket because we couldn't count up to 10.

There's also that time when we (again) couldn't help a user with his support ticket because we didn't have much experience regarding the installation and maintenance of a Counter Strike Condition Zero server.
And that time when a user wanted all of his giveaways deleted because Neil Armstrong died.

When you think that you have faced the worst ticket ever, it gets worse.
I try to survive by not really caring about it. Being indifferent or neutral helps a bit regarding support.

We get a ticket every now and then from a user requesting that we make him win.
Comment has been collapsed.
People make tickets for that? I thought it was already well known that you have to add CG as a friend and give him inventory copies of 50 different Steam games?

What is my risk of suspension if I send in a ticket that's obviously for laughs? Or is it a matter of whether jade sees my ticket first?
Comment has been collapsed.
I think it's more of a matter of whether it contains a giveaway or not. wink wink
Seriously though, funny tickets don't come by force, they just... appear.

Hey, I appreciate a good ticket here and there. As long as it has some sort of purpose instead of being a timewaster. SleepyCat has a ticket where we still haven't solved their issue, even after months, so we must continually look at the forty or so cat gifs, trying to warm our dark and bitter hearts.

Your definition of "timewaster" offers a lot of room for interpretation.

I'll brighten your day by sending you a ticket saying I can't get my car to start? I think its one of those pointlessly superfluous "computers" doing electronically what a simple mechanical latch did in past models. I had a tailgate that wouldn't open because some chip died. I request you walk me through fixing my car.

I see people breaking this rule all the time lately.

I've been leaving obviously fake giveaways open a little longer lately as a honeypot for smartasses.

In some cultures giving away a copy of the latest installment of Call of Duty franchised considered a rite of passage. After giving away one on steamgifts or similar site, the person is considered mature enough to go to public servers and tea-bag his fallen enemies, while claiming that he had sex with opponent's relatives. Also for the ones who actually reads the comments there is hidden giveaway in source code of this post.

One would think not getting suspended would be a common sense affair. That's just my two cents though.

Oh, lord. Let's not get into that one. That was a ridiculous incident and many facepalms were had.

I saw the thread in question, didn't really see what was so horrible about it.
I assume they called someone out, you closed it, they recreated it and rather than saying the username, they stated "person who's username begins with *" and then it was closed by you again?
I'm just trying to determine why the thread was closed to avoid breaking the same rules. I've seen lots of posts where people have screenshots of chat logs and they either partially block the name or even leave the avatar which makes it a lot easier to track down the person.

I didn't close the second one, and I wasn't the one that gave the suspension.
Well, I'd say that if you got a warning for calling out, you shouldn't create the same thread, even if you think you have given "less information".
Leaving the avatar, on the other hand, is not enough information to go on, as most users have Steam pre-set avatars. Not only that, but the chat is something that happens outside of SG. In this case, the issue was SG related.

I never had a suspension. I am quiet and i like to browse and report people if they break the FAQ. I am a nice guy......Nice guy

my first (and luckily the only one) time getting suspended was when Cross suspended me for telling on forums that "proxy doesn't work" - because to quote his words "I've suspended all the users that mentioned or promoted the use of proxies to abuse the Ubishop promotion." - it does not matter that I told it doesn't work and discourage everyone from using it ;p
Sorry Cross, but you brought it yourself by topic title ;p

THAT WAS ALMOST A YEAR AGO.
And, as always, speaking in general, if you think that you've been suspended unjustly, feel free to create a support ticket and question your suspension.

3/4 =/= 1 ;p but yeah - imma mostly just trolling to mess with you right now ;p
While I still believe that particulat suspension wasn't fair (I exactly stated that using proxy did not work "bleh, used proxy, and now im getting Payment Authorisation Failed on every game ;P") I won't bother creating moar tickets as I can imagine you have a shitload of them in a queue already and Support don't need someone crying over spilled milk ;p

It's possible that it wasn't fair. I'm not going to say that I've always made good judgments when it comes to suspensions, however, it's important to let us know about it by either asking for another support member to check your case, or leave feedback regarding it, so that we can be aware of it.

on the other hand you guys have a lot of work anyways - so if particular someone have slightly problem isn't it better to just leave the case (eventually let me have my laugh at you cost once) especially that putting this particular matter aside I find you to be quite helpful support member - especially due to your activity on the forums ;) When I had real issues with one particulat support member decisions even after 6 months without a solution I was still pushing until Lina solved it. You? well I won't tell I wasn't angry at the time, but considering your otherwise quite a good work - I feel no need to revive a drama ;p I got 3 days off, but after 9 months it doesn't matter really ;p Just played on your nerves a bit now and we may call it a deal ;p

I got suspended once for bumping a month old thread to call someone out on their spelling... I hadn't really been on the site much, and I didn't see that it was really old so I just went in and called him out on it... Then, when I found out what I had done, I apologized to the guy and my suspension was lifted... Ever since then, I won't call people out on spelling... Especially if it's a month old thread...

We get suspended, we learn our lessons.
Most of the times.

Lol i remember i got suspended for begging when i first joined , now i regret for not reading the rules .

I almost got suspended because I ended up necroing a couple of threads some months ago. I'd like to blame it on the fact that it was late and I was tired when I did so, but that just sounds like a terrible excuse, so I'll remain forever quiet and avoid discussion with all Interweb people :/

you suspended me because I was giving away a game from gamefly which could not be activated on steam. should have asked my friend whether or not the key he gave me was steam redeemable.
Since then I have grown, and have became a law abiding citizen :3

Sharing this giveaway per gifter's request.
Let this be a lesson folks, if you want to question another user's acts, create a support ticket instead of calling them out on the forums. (Even if you do, at least don't recreate your thread if a support member warned you and closed it.)
