Might sound like a stupid question but I'm somewhat new here... I've won a game and when I go to the page the key slot is empty; do I still check the received box and wait to get contacted for the key or wait to check the received box???
Thank you in advance for your help:)

No, wait to be contacted. The GA creator has 7 days to send the key, and they do need to manually send the key on their end.

For now, wait. It may appear in the key slot, it may be sent to your email, it may be given to you by the gifter via Steam chat or sent as an inventory gift. If none of this happens after seven days and the gifter does not respond, you can mark it as "not received".

Never mark a win as received until it is activated on your account just to be on the safe side and make sure people don't report you for non-activation.

Ok, thanks for your good advice. I activated all of my win, but never realised I had to do it before marking them as received,
will do so in the future:) Thanks

You don't technically have to, it just keeps other people from getting the wrong idea.

When you win a gift, some of them like to give it away via chat, some via e-mail, some of them via SteamGifts itself (link or key).
Read the description of the giveaway, most of giveaway people write how they will send the gift (chat/add, e-mail or steamgifts).
Til you receive any contact, just be alert in those contact ways. :)

They're is no description in the GA, but it's good advice. Will just give it some time and see.
If I don't get any news after a couples days, is it considered OK to contact the GA creator and ask?

While there's no rule against it, it usually comes across as being "pushy" or "demanding." It's best to just let them contact you. In the event that they don't, marking the gift as "not received" usually gets their attention. )

Just joined 3 weeks ago and 3 wins not bad

You may want to go here so next time you have to ask a question that can be answered there you will not need to ask here..

Yeah, it seem I am lucky. Everytme I created a GA, I've won one not long after.
It must be my good karma;) I had already read the FAQ, I just wasn't sure if I should
write it as received or not... Thanks for your answer, and good luck to you:)
