Well, the switch to Epic is what people have been expecting for a while I suppose. Not going to try the game on Epic, but if I can play for free on Switch without an Epic account I'll probably give it an attempt.

This is the one time I don't mind having paid for something that is now free because I've played a lot of it so at this point I don't care if it goes F2P, also I haven't played the game in months so the free items and DLC are actually an excuse to go back even if it just to check the new stuff.
Does anybody knows if the DLC will still be available for purchase through steam? Didn't saw anything about that in the announcement.

Official RL DLC incorporated when they made collector's ediiton the standard (so the Battlecars, etc)
All other DLC (Batmobile, Delorean, etc) scrapped, probably due to licensing reasons when Epic bought RL.
Now anything you buy is in-game.

I didn't even thought that they were already gone, now I'm regretting not buying that Mclaren car that looked so nice or the Batmobiles. Welp, I only use Masamune anyway. Guess I'll never spend money in the game again cos the only thing I was ok with paying for were the DLC.

Yeah, Masamune was one of the few I bought cos it was on sale on HB at one point. I think it pissed a lot of people off, TBH, but like I say, I think it was licensing issues, and probably Epic being too greedy to keep those extra royalty costs going :P

I'd imagine those movie licenses became really expensive when the studios found out that Psyonix was now owned by a big company with deep pockets.

Whee, bought it twice (Steam and PSN, that time for local multiplayer for the brats). As long as it keeps the split screen, I guess I won't mind too much. At least I never paid for DLC. If the brats can get the batmobile for free, they will like that.

I mean, it's quite fun with some friends. I picked it up again a few months ago, and it's way more fun with friends then playing it solo. This also is not for everyone, because it is quite a competitive game.

I think you're looking at it wrong, it's football but with racing game controls and instead of controlling a whole team you just handle one player, it sounds dumb but what it does is turning a strategy-esque genre into a straight forward action one and that's compelling for a lot of people.

had played the game as part of free weekend and it was shit. cars were so slow even with the boosts around the map and even with those it felt meh and it was too rigid. also don't like dlc and now the gross fear of missing out exploit with the exclusive rewards to force people into buying the game now now now before it goes free to play
