Have you ever heard about Starbound? It's going to be a Terraria-like sandbox game with endless planets to explore, with endless kinds of weapons and stuff. And I can't wait for it to be released!

Oh God yes! I have been waiting since the announcement. I really hope it turns out to be at least half as good as it seems to be so far.

Heard of it, following it closely and already supported the devs by fetching a 4 pack of Wanderlust: Rebirth

Is this game supposed to be a replacement of Terraria?

It's meant to be a space-themed Terraria spiritual sequel. You can't really call it a replacement since it diverges thematically, and you can't call it direct sequel since they're from two different developers.

Not exactly. Tiy, one of the Chucklefish leads was one of the two guys behind Terraria. ;)

Different studios though, which was what I truly meant.

I prefer to be Earthbound than to be Starbound.

I'm really looking forward to Starbound. Me and some friends had a really great time with Terraria and from the looks of it, this one will expand on pretty much everything you could do in Terraria. I even bought a 4-pack of "Wanderlust: Rebirth" to support the Starbound developers.

I'll be getting at least four copies for me and friends as soon as it's possible.

I can't wait for it either. That's why I bought Darkout that was released few days ago.

I'm looking forward to the game, hoping it will be even better than Terraria with all ability to move to different worlds if you feel like you've mined yours out. That's the one thing I have to wonder though, how expansive will each planet be? Can we mine them out entirely like we did with Terraria or is there something that's going to constantly be forcing us to move forward? Can we play the whole game on one planet if we really want to?

Is the gameplay going to be as smooth as Terraria is another question for me, the graphics look bulkier. Obviously that alone doesn't mean anything but I have the feeling it's not going to feel quite as smooth, won't know until I get my hands on it though.

I just hope this doesn't end up as one of those games that goes "If you love Terraria you'll REALLY love this!" and then deliver a steaming pile. I really want to love this game, hoping they don't blow it.

As far as gameplay goes, you can walk up single blocks so that alone makes it a lot smoother than Terraria. Anyways, here's some Gameplay footage of the game, though it's a few months old now.

It's come a fair little ways since I stopped contributing there though it's still a ways from release. Already a few months overdue and likely several more at least. Should be a decent play when it finally hits.

I'm purposely not hunting down information about this game, because I don't want to hype myself up and end up disappointed and/or kill myself from anticipation.
