Damned, it's been too long I last played.
I only reached the boss on easy on my third run, and lost at the 2nd encouter, with the new ship.

I managed to beat the flagship on easy on my first run with my new ship. Had 6 crew, went really heavy evasion, 3 shields, used the default laser and ion blaster, a over-charging laser thing, and a flak cannon for offensive strength. Coupled with the hacking bot on their shields I could usually drain him a bit, then smash him with 3 flak rounds and 5 or 6 lasers, usually damaging shields, which after 2 volleys was weak enough to begin targeting other things. Oh, and I had the weapon pre-igniter, which sadly doesn't work for the overcharge laser, but was still pretty handy. Also had a defensive bot and a hull repair bot to patch me up.

Overall, loving the new content.
