Do you like Horror Related games?
I don't get scared or something like that while playing horror, even alone in midnight.
I just don't like the dark atmosphere. Not because I'm afraid of it, but it makes it harder to see around and find objects. And if I play too long, I'll feel dizzy.
So I prefer another genre.
Except for resident evil 4 (the only resident evil I played) it's not that dark so I enjoyed playing it,
but I don't know if it's considered as horror, as there's no ghost in RE.

That'd make it longer to finish the game. And some games can't be saved freely.
the only horror game I want to try is Fatal Frame, too bad there's no pc version.

I do owned Dead Space 2. which for me was the scariest game i ever had on my steam library. I had to turn the volume to the lowest setting had my siblings around me to accompany while playing. Every time i reached a checkpoint, i'll saved and quit to play another game.
Some of Hidden Object Games(also known as HOGs) has a very interesting dark stories. Mostly on supernatural behavior. Its a game about point & click puzzle game. This is my list some of my favorite HOGs.

At least it is still 3rd person for your Dead Space 2. and it still have some action inside it xD
Usually FPS combined with horror will cause heart attack moar (especially if u are chased)~
And usually Hidden object always contain dark story or some mystery (I still like Mystery Case series)

not a big fan of horror games, jumpscares are just cheap and it feels like every horror game nowadays uses it.
Silent Hill 2 is in my humble but beautifull eyes is, the best horror game ever made, because it explores the scariest place of all, the human mind.

I love horror as a genre in movies and games. But i'm scared to play horror games. I have on Steam Amnesia: The Dark Descent and i just can't play it. A good horror game or movie don't have to be full of jumpscares. Atmosphere, tension, and good story for me are most important. I specially love a good twist :)

I have no problem with horror movies. I like to watch them with my girlfriend, so i could laugh at her, when she start to jump and scream, but to convice her is a rare thing ( i know i'm a bad person, i will burn in hell) :D

I like Lovecraftian horror, and when it comes to horror games I prefer visual novels and other story-heavy games to something that requires me to have quick reflexes.
It Moves is a great slow burn, atmospheric kind of horror game, and mister average is a short visual novel with some excellent writing. (Both freeware.) And of course Saya no Uta is a fucked up masterpiece.

I purchased "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" in July 2012.
I still didn't have the balls to even install it. ^^
It also took a long time until I played "Left 4 Dead".
After playing it the first time I recognized that it actually isn't a horror game and a straight forward, mostly brainless shooter that happens to have zombies as enemies. It doesn't even have jumpscares.
