A first time subscription to Humble Monthly is 10% off. Couldn't you make a new account whenever you want to resubscribe? I am curious if Humble will detect if you are using the same pay pal account or bank account number? Has anyone tested this?

Not everyone looks to see the date of posts, they just see a thread on the front page and respond to it. To be fair, I see two other users in proximity to this post that posted before him/her, one an hour before, another 3 hours before, so... It's safe to say Nixxi was not the one who necro'd the topic. Instead, further investigation leads to...

Until 2 days ago I didn't know there was a referral program, providing 3€ per referral. I discovered it attempting to find the correct way to do a second subscription/gifting a bundle. At the end made my mate purchase it with the referral, seemed the optimum way.

I mean, there's a good reason to control it by HB.

you still need to buy a 1 $ tier bundle to get the discount. so instead of 12$, you have to pay just 11,80$ and to waste some time. at least you will get some tier 1 games as well^^
you can also use the 12 month subscription plan. you will not safe much money, but at least its not much afford^^

Making more then one account is against some TOS or something akin to it.That should be obvious otherwise you could make multi account to buy more bundles or abuse the monthly new discount or other deals going on like free gamesThough you can buy the regular bundles up to 2 for one account if you use two different payments like Paypal and a CC/Debit.Though some have said they had issues doing that but so far i have not as sometimes i buy another bundle to help out a friend or trade for other bundle games ect.

The monthly clearly states only one per account .....really though is it really worth the trouble to save a buck or two if you need to save that much maybe you need a new hobby.

"Though you can buy the regular bundles up to 2 for one account if you use two different payments like Paypal and a CC/Debit."

Can you provide some proof?
I read the terms, but I can not find that information.

Comment has been collapsed.

You mean proof of buying two bundles??I have done it a few times for trading/ga's.

Just wanted to edit to clarify a couple things...

One is that you use to be able to buy more than one monthly with one account but they put a stop to that.

Two there are no written rules for that because it varies as the publisher themselves may request one purchase per account/payment.Humble themselves can limit purchases as they see fit.

So when I see people trading humble monthly x2 or giving away two games of each from said monthly it is most likely because they made two accounts or they could also have traded/bought a bundle from someone else.

Permalink

Proof of that you are not allowed to buy more than two regular bundles. ^^
I did not managed to find that information, and I could buy a bundle to giveaway and for my brothers, so I'd be over this limit.

I have two accounts because I wanted to buy Vermintide for a friend. All it requires is a different email address. I used a different credit card for the payment but both have the same billing address.

I can't image that making a new email address every time will be worth the $0.20 savings you acquire (because you have to buy a $1 bundle to get the $1.20 discount). Plus, all your keys will then be spread across many accounts. Talk about PITA...

Instead of making a new email address, you can use your own domain name to create a lot of email addresses. (You must have a domain name first of course)
I use this technique for websites that I don't want to give my real email address.

You need separate paypal/cc/whatever payment method, they will detect that.
Of course, the 10% off one month is less than the 12-month yearly subscription with 1 month free.

Comment has been collapsed.

Do you actually get 13 months? Or is it supposed to be what you saved? So if you paid 12 months at $11 you end up paying $132 and if it was normal it would be $144, so it would be like you got a free month.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You save the 12th month, 11+1. The cost of 11 months you get the 12th month free. so $132. You can still get the 10% off first month so like $130.xx

Yeah, I read your first comment wrong the first time, I thought you were saying that it was cheaper getting the yearly subscription. Not that the difference is that big though.

You can't have THAT many accounts per payment method / IP, but you can have multiple. The 10% discount I'm told is valid for paying ahead for an entire year, so you don't have to rotate accounts often.

EDIT: It now reads like it's a 10% discount for one month only.

Some people have issue with Humble because they are giving away some keys (check SG threads). Official answer of humble is often that they appears to be resellers. I can easily imagine what they think about multiple accounts. Here is an example of answer:

Hi there,,

Thank you for reaching out to us here at Humble Bundle Support!

Please be aware that purchases made through Humble Bundle are meant for personal use only. We do not support the exchanging of Steam keys or the trading of games. Additionally, we in no way support the trading or reselling of games purchased through Humble Bundle as this is a violation of our Terms of Service.

It should be noted that both trading and reselling keys on the “grey market” affects the industry’s ability to flourish and support our awesome developers and marketplaces like Humble Bundle, as noted in this article here. While the practice of reselling damages trust from developers, it should also be noted that a majority of resold/obtained games in this arena are purchased with stolen personal information. Ultimately, this practice negatively impacts the developers, Humble Bundle, and gamers all at once when these titles are found to be fraudulent purchases.

We highly recommend against this practice for a number of reasons and have explained in detail why this practice is dangerous for all involved in a blog post.

I am sorry however we are not able to assist with issues in relation to game trading, selling, or any third party distributions of keys: https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/articles/202712380-Can-I-sell-trade-or-use-my-keys-for-promotional-purposes-i-e-Stream-giveaways-

Thank you for your understanding.

You can create anew account each month but as others have noticed you'll also need to buy a bundle anyway so you'll only be saving 20 cents in the end. However after a couple of purchases it's likely that they'll hold a purchase for review. I'm unsure if that is tied to payment method ip address or something else though.

Hi again everyone.

I am still concerned on the amount of HB accounts I can have.

Right now I have five, and I play to purchase 10 to 20 HB per month in the future.

Is there any risk that they can invalid my keys in the process or something of the like?

Well never read about multiple account policy in HB, so i don't know what will they do if they found many of us have multiple account.
I think you can ask HB support about them instead of necro this thread several times :p

Regarding about the key, there're some similar problem lately.

As for the keys... I get to keep them all (which would've been a pain if I couldn't as I already used/gave/traded them all away), I just could not buy anymore new ones on those accounts/payment methods.

This example (from your screenshot) wouldn't be possible in the EU since you're allowed by law to resell. Their TOS would be against the EU law. They can put it in there for countries who don't have such law, but they wouldn't be able to enforce it for people from the EU.

Well, technically according to the European Court of Justice in judgement of 2012 about a case involving a business reselling licenses, resale of software license is ok.
http://curia.europa.eu/juris/document/document.jsf?docid=124564&doclang=EN
which also means that e.g. Valve ought to permit resale of licenses (if such applies directly to a personal level as well).

But the topic here is a bit different one, since using multiple accounts to turn a commercial profit from purchasing and selling is likely to meet with a wide range of laws in various countries - such as some countries may consider that doing "business" and may not view it favorably if the person doing so didn't properly register their "business" and doesn't pay taxes accordingly.

(grey) traders, like on SteamTrades, sometimes requires HB links... for a guaranteed key (my guess)
when you gift a key to a friend, don't bother with HB links, they are kinda pointless, especially as they aren't hack/leak-proof
gifting a HB link might get your purchase linked to grey trader email in the end without you knowing it, also

(b) Restrictions. You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities: "(xiv) circumventing Service limitations on the number of Products you may purchase, including, without limitation, creating multiple accounts and purchasing a total number of Products through such multiple accounts which exceed the per-user limitations; "
