I wish they were available for purchase digitally somewhere.

I'd totally get those.

Sleeping Dogs is technically part of the True Crime series.

^This

It was going to be published by Activision under the name "True Crime: Hong Kong", but they cancelled it.
Square Enix picked it up, but didn't buy the name.

Trouble in terrorist town.
I know this isn't a game but still it's really fun.

I agree, but its not a police game at all.

It's also annoying as hell. I'm always plagued by idiots shouting into their mics making stupid jokes.

Blac Kops II: Carl of Duty

Blue Squad... was it? An old adventure game, very, very good.
Police Quest II and IV are amazing too.
Captain Brawe is nice, you play as a space cop.
In Sleeping Dogs you play as an undercover cop.

Oh yeah, I've got Kaptain Brawe.

I haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

I remember playing Police Quest 3 back in the day.
We didn't have the manual so we had to keep guessing the
combination on his damn locker until we eventually managed to get it.

Urban Chaos: Riot Response

But it is PS2 / XBox only. Damn good though.

I looked at that game not that long ago.

My PlayStation 2 broke recently, and I haven't had an
original Xbox since my brother screwed it up many a year ago.

I'll have to see if I can maybe find a used copy or something when I get around to replacing them.

Pity you aren't a Kiwi, I'd offer to send a slim model PS2, you would just need cables.

There is urban chaos for PC. Probably it's not the same.
Oni
Cops 2170 (not played) but with that title sure it covers your request.

Yeah, Urban Chaos on PC (also DC and PS1) is a different game.

Didn't remember the main character being a cop. Just some private detective guy. Then again, that might be acceptable for the topic creator. Still, after the intro, you don't really do much copy stuff. :P

I've always wanted a copy. The DC / PC / PS1 version was a different game from the PS2 / XBox version. I'll likely never find a copy.

Not an option for me. I shop online only with some Visa gift cards, which limits places I can purchase from.

Plus, I'm looking in PAL regions as well.

I once tried a pirated pal game on my PS2, the whole game was in Black and white. Serves me right, although it was Gungrave...and it somehow looked decent in B+W.

Ebay doesn't take gift cards? That blows....

To my knowledge, they only accept PayPal.

And I have GunGrave, at least for now. I'll be sending it to a friend of mine, just don't like it and he wants to try.

I discovered it on GOG and fell in love.

A game where you're a black woman and a cop? That is just perfect for me.

It's on gog? The game was good then, enjoyable at least. Give it a try, sure you have worst games on your steam library.

The SWAT series, 3-4 in particular, are great cop-themed games.

And also the Tex Murphy series (3-5 in particular).

I know that you know about the Police Quest series, but there is an offshoot of that which you may also want to look at, SWAT.

I've only played the last game in the series, but it was an amazing experience. You play as a police SWAT unit, and have to go into dangerous situations to apprehend criminals, and rescue hostages. While the levels are static, the placement of NPCs is somewhat randomized, giving each level a different feel on repeated playthroughs. Oh, and you cannot go in guns blazing. You lose points for killing a hostile who was not threatening you, and less than lethal take downs are awarded more than lethal action. It is a tense FPS, and one of my favorites of the genre.

Shame it isn't sold digitally, but it's not terribly expensive
so I'll have to get that sometime after I get the first three on GOG.
