This has been suggested hundreds of times and as you can see, so far there was no success. People came to the forums, posted their thoughts about this or similiar suggestions related to limited entries on giveaways and got bashed by the community fairly quick.
And yes i was one of them, it was like the first thread i made and most people gave negative feedback. I still support this, it opens more ways to make giveaways, perhaps these could be limited to groups and private only, with contribution or not. Public giveaways should remain untouched otherwise alot of people will disagree with this fact and flame you like they did with me back in the days.
Gifters should be the ones to decide if this turns out to be an option or not, because they will be the ones using it if they like it. Leechers and non contributors should stay away. And obviously cg has the final go in this.

how about having giveaways limited not by time, but by number of entries.
say for example putting a limit of 100 entries and the system rolls inmediaty when the entries are complete.
of course, maybe also limited by time, in case someone decides to make a Children of the Nile: Alexandria giveaway and ask for 1000 entries :)
