This is an old grandma recipe, which works wonders...

1 Shot of Dry Whiskey, with lemon and/or lime juice, 1 tablespoon of honey, plus a cap full of white vinegar.
Microwave for just a few seconds and shot back in one go.

Caution: Limit 10 per day.

Your never lived? How old do you think I am?
Anyways, it's actually legal to drink underage with parents permission under your own roof. One shot won't get you drunk.

Alcohol has been known to speed up recovery of colds oddly enough.

In some countries parents let children drink(Wine with dinner usually).

Like most have said, keep yourself well hydrated, eat, rest, and maybe drink some milk and honey to calm down some symptoms. Most importantly, water and rest. There's not a better remedy than that.

Play videogames untill you pass out (into sleep mode obviously). It should pay out with some fine resting!

1st - Rest (Better if you can sleep)
2nd - Keep your body hydrated
3rd - Vitamin C, better if natural (citric juices are better, nothing processed)

Hope to see you healthy soon

Ways you can keep hydrated without boring your tastebuds with water - which usually tastes terrible when you're sick (at least to me): 7up+1shot Grapefruit juice, hot Tea+2tsp Honey+1tsp Milk+1pinch Ginger

Well, puddles of fat floating in cup of tea are kinda disgusting, but since it works I drink such tea every day. And it works well, I haven't got flu/cold for two years!

Couldn't you just have a piece of toast with butter instead with the tea then?

This always makes colds/flus go away faster imo, I have used it and have not used it, every time I did use it I got better much quicker. Flu(Got dat bird fluuu) with it lasted a week, flu without it lasted 2 and a couple days...

Take vitamins(Make sure to get some C), sleep as much as your body wants you to(Struggle for me, I like to do things.), and drink plenty of liquids.

I also recommended citrus/mint teas, just because they clear you out nicely.

I have Partial iGA Deficiency, which means I get colds a lot easier than most people, all throughout the year. Whenever I'm down, I tend to try take as little medicine as I need in case I might be able to build on my immune system, get plenty of rest and drinks, and I usually spend a lot more time reading and doing sudoku/crossword puzzles. I'm usually back up after a day or so.

I also find that making a cup of Honey Tea (a good squirt of Honey and a Tea Bag with hot water and milk) twice a day usually helps too, and I definitely try to have more soup/minestrone when I'm down with a flu.
