low masters is like D- on iccup

About the practice league...hmmm... For me it's destroy rocks fast - build units fast - rush to their base - win.

AI always uses the same build, but they have advantage in resources, so it's not quite the same to play with AI in comparison with human player. He is unpredictable, but has the same amount of resources.

Practice league is mostly a waste of time, but if you're just starting you should probably play all those games since everyone else has been playing for a while. The AI is very easy on all but Insane difficulty, and that's because the AI cheats for resources on Insane. Also the AI always rushes so holding the first push while building as much econ as possible puts you in an almost unloseable situation.

And yeah, low master is like, D- on iCCup.

Don't play alot of the Practice league. It won't help you on ladder. These rocks are terrible and don't teach you how to defend cheese.

Play the challenges!, they teach you how to defead 6pool/proxy-gateway etc.
