To be honest I never really thought I make a discussion thingy here, but then again I guessed why not.

Before anything, I'd like to give a bit of background. I am dealing with the Norse mythology for about 9 years now. In the beginning it was like a childish fantasy world for me, but as I got older it got more and more serious. After 4-5 years I realised that there isn't any informational website in my mother language, so I decided to create one. It was hard at the beginning, because I wrote more fantasy than actual facts. In the last 2-3 year I finally got my own domain, and with it my more serious work started.

Right now I am asking the help of the community. I want to create a collection where all kinds of Norse/Viking themed games can be found for those who seek to play them. It can be any computer or console games but I wouldn't mind table games or any other in connection with this topic (like hnefatafl* or kubb**).

First and foremost I am looking for games which are entirely about the Norse/Viking stuff. I know there are awfully lot which has some connection to the Norse mythology but it would be impossible to get every one of that.

Thanks for all the help!

*If you didn't hear about hnefatafl before, you can read and play more about it here:
http://www.play-hnefatafl.com/

**This is a great tutorial video for kubb:

oh, what? so strange, when I checked a while ago it was still there, sorry about that, after refreshing the page i noticed now that it was removed. Wanted to recommend the oncoming "For Honor" game, but it doesn't have Vikings only from what I've seen.

If we can recommend books, I also enjoyed Blood Eye, a story about a young man in England who is marked by Norse raiders as being blessed by Odin. He's taken aboard and becomes part of their way of life. It's a pretty good read.

Sounds interesting! I think I might make a new topic for books and movies in the future because that would be another huge list. Thanks for the suggestion!

The Banner Saga trilogy draws quite a bit from Norse/Viking themes although it's more fantasy-geared.
Ofc there's also Jotun and I think The Great Whale Road as well.

They seem to have a fine connection to the Norse. Even fantasy games can be a lot of fun and might make someone interested in this mythology.

I think Titan Quest has a chapter inspired by Norse mythology in the expansion (which is included in the Anniversary Edition).
Then there's Rune and maybe Zombie Vikings.

First of all the goal is to collect as many as I can. After that I will start digging for the details as of which games are based strongly and which ones have only a partial connection. It's much easier for me to have a list (even if it is a long one) and search for the details of each, than to find the games myself and then start the checking.

So if you really do enjoy it, then please do is! It would be great to have as many as I can.

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition - one of the nations is norsemen with their Gods.
Skyrim is obviously inspired by norse culture, why didn't anybody mention it before?

Age of Mythology is one of the best example as the partial connection.
Funnily enough when I asked my site visitors their first suggestion was Skyrim.
