Well, I can see that he actually bought the games, lots of proof he actually did, but can't he revoke the game and lock the accounts of the ones he gave the game to?

It's pretty hard to tell scammers from legit people.. although I don't know of any way you can really lose. If the games get revoked later you haven't exactly lost anything. Once I had just missed out on the humble bundle with alan wake collection in it, which I really wanted but couldn't buy coz I was broke. A couple of days later I got added by a guy who gifted me...you guessed it, alan wake collection. He just asked that I post something good about him on his profile, +1 rep, good trader or whatever. This was quite a few months ago and the games never got revoked so.. that's my only experience with randoms giving me stuff and it worked out pretty well for me.

Yeah but if they revoke it your account gets locked, yes?

not necessarily, usually you receive a warning for the first time and furthermore you can always give good reasons why you're not a part of this scam

Even worse - the world ends. Seriously though, I honestly doubt you'd get your account closed for accepting a gift, relax dude.
EDIT: Unless he works for a mob and will blackmail you into assassinating rival gang leaders, all just because you accepted a shitty, discounted game from him. I wouldn't do it, man.

Really? I didn't know this. But if you got gifted the game rather than buy it with a fraudulent CC for your own account (the guy sent me a steam gift, it wasn't a key so it wasn't actually from the humble bundle, it just happened to be right after the humble bundle ended) wouldn't it be obvious to support that you were given the game by the real scammer? I would be very hesitant accepting keys from someone I didn't know but I would have thought gifts would be okay.

Well just in case you better not redeem these codes then just in case I go back and try to take them back.

If you are brave enough to redeem, let me know which ones you use so I can delete them off my inventory spreadsheet.

just for curiosity, where is this thread?
also if i'm not mistaken they can't do anything to your account, at the most they remove the game from your library.

The creator has a DC tag in his name too and registered at roughly the same time as you, I'd hardly call this person random. Also you marked it as received a minute after it ended (saw it on the main page before I read this topic), extremely rare to receive the gift right when it ends even between friends. Not saying you're trying to cheat the CV system but I saw someone who made a puzzle just to disguise his cheating. If it really is just a coincidence though then good for you :)

Well, you have nothing to loss :) The worst that can happen is that he buys the game and doens't send it to you.
If he does send it to you in a steam trade, it's yours. Valve doesn't support trades outside of steam so even if he says you should have sent him $10 on paypal, they don't care.
Also, I'd love to know who it is :)

I read a while ago that you shouldn't accept games from strangers and I saw this thread saying that he will buy people steam games that are on sale right now. Should I ask?
He gave around 400$ worth of games already, should I ask from him? :o
I'm currently broke and..
