You should've saw that coming since its been delayed a loooooot. Type-0 was a hint of what was going to happen to versus with the rename.
I need to see more of it, I'll probably give it a try whenever its released (probably late 2015 lol)

Honestly, I get the feeling FFXIII Versus was in production so long, and was needing so much in resources, financial, technical and human that Square-Enix decided they wanted it to be more than just a spin-off. The problem with that is, as you say, this is fundamentally different from what you'd expect a main numbered game in the series to be like.
Could be we have an FFXII all over again. Dividing opinion, but still a solid game.

It doesn't seem like a Final Fantasy game as much (well the numbered series anyway), kinda reminded me of The Last Story.

There are moments in that where this game looks beautiful and the fighting looks really well crafter (although sometimes slightly scripted), but it is ruined every time he starts flashing about all over the screen. Whats the point in a battle system where you cant be hit and will give you headaches?!

The battle system looks more or less like the one form Kingdom Hearts. Im not saying it's a bad thing... but I would like it to be more RPGish/turn based. I dont know why but dodge roll in FF game just does not feel right.
Also we can suspect the action gonna take place mostly in that one city. I hope im wrong and its gona have classic FF style world map or something.

An important thing to keep in mind is that XIII Versus has a different team working on it than XIII, XIII-2 and XIII-3. They did the whole XIII and XIII Versus thing because both of the teams wanted the number 13 for some reason. I think the rebranding is a good idea to set it apart from FF XIII.

I was wondering, am I the only one not happy with ff xv?
When sony showed ff xiii versus I was like "whatever...I don't care about this game" then I saw the title changing in ff xv and I was really disappointed. The people at the conference seemed happy about the title changing(I don't know why) but for me it just made me lose any hope. I knew that there was a probability the a ff xv would have appeared and I hoped to see a return to what final fantasy was before the xiii (it's not that is necessarily bad it's just does not feel like a ff to me) and to have a good game.
About what I saw the environment feel too much like a modern city to my tastes (nothing so "fantasy"), the movements feel like a generic action game, I don't like the design of the weapons (too many generic guns) and of the cloths that seems too normal and where not they seem like they have nothing to do with the rest (for example here i don't understand the group of people with that armor and helmet and then a weapon that resemble an ak 47...) also there is too much movement for a ff game(jumping here and there, climb, escape from things and so on) that make me think that the what you can do is very limited and you can just go on on the story path.
I know that maybe it's a bit early to say something, i saw almost nothing but for now i don't like what they have done, maybe if this was another game unrelated to ff and they where continuing working on a ff game would be ok for me.
What are your thoughts about it?
