Hide Mature Games

Hi everyone,

I'm releasing an update today that allows users to hide giveaways for mature games. You may have seen them popping up on the homepage or in the featured giveaway section at times, and I'm aware not everyone wants to be exposed to this content. It can also be a turnoff for users visiting the community for the first time.

How it works

• If you visit your account page, you'll see a new option to "hide mature games".
• This setting only affects the giveaways you see on the homepage. You are still able to access the giveaways directly, or view them on user profiles.
• Mature games will be hidden for logged out users.

What games will be classified as mature?

• The account page includes a link so you can view a list of active giveaways that are currently being hidden with the setting. You can review the list and see if these are giveaways you want to participate in. Keep in mind, this is only a list of mature games with giveaways that are either open or coming soon. In total, we have over 7,500 games flagged in the database as mature.
• The site automatically classifies games as mature based on their Steam advisory rating, and then moderators have tools to manually add or remove games.
• The focus is on games that resemble pornography or games where sexual imagery is the focal point of the game (e.g. jigsaw puzzle games, that just contain adult images). A small number of low-effort or asset flip games that try to capitalize on shocking themes and content may also be added to the filter.

We'll do our best to maintain the list. However, you might occasionally see a game appear that shouldn't be there, since games are automatically flagged. We'll try to get these fixed in a timely manner, but please let us know if you see any notable mistakes that persist. Thanks!
