Alien Isolation. It's fun as fuck.
The Evil Within isn't too bad either, if you like Resident Evil 4 you will like this game too.
Amnesia: Dark Descent (Don't play the sequel, it sucks as an Amnesia game)

There are a lot of them, all point-and-click, of course (Downfall, Sanitarium, Fran Bow, Blackstone Chronicles, Darkness Within 1-2, The Dark Eye, The Last Door 1-2, Scratches, The Lost Crown and some others), but the favourite one is The Cat Lady.

This game is terrifying:
LCYF7-RB93Y-NNREP
but more in a 'please get this out of my steam library' kind of way
go ahead! try it XD. Its the stuff of nightmares.

Fatal Frame + the indie version AKA Dreadout are really good.
Resident evil remake or resident evil 2 can never be wrong.
Alien versus predator the first one.. Yeah not a horror game untill you were playing as the marine in the middle of the night >:D
Might have forgotten a game or 3 :/

Hell yes, while the grills gets sexier and sexier each installment fatal frame seems to be always scary

My favorite horror game is Penumbra. It's actually a trilogy. Very good games, with very difficult riddles and scary enemies. :D

Outlast, for sure.
The story just grabbed and absorbed the heck outta me, It may have been the only thing that gave me courage to keep moving through it.
The second game is going to be awesome.

I've wanted to play Outlast for a while now, but am too afraid of there being just jumpscares around every corner.

Eh, I guess the story goes over some people's heads, or maybe it's just not their thing. Whatever, people can like and hate whatever they want.

My favorite ones are Silent Hill 2 and Alan Wake. I like Alan Wake better because the story progressed more naturally, while in SH2 there was some backtracking and weird puzzles which broke the immersion imo.

Silent Hill 1, no doubt. None of the other Silent Hills seemed to me to be half as scary as the first...

Haunting Ground (PS2). Really wish I could find a replacement without paying too much.

Resident Evil
Fran Bow is very good too. But a point and click game don't have replay value.

Among the sleep ain't nothing short of an amazing horror game.can't wait to try it out with a vr setup.when it comes to SHs,to me they're mostly meta mind fucks and can give you insane creeps at times.up to Homecoming, they were great, would crawl under your skin and induce chills, goosebumps n suspension like no other game.RE games,on the other hand, provide just the right amount of adrenaline n tension, while not boring you to death with puzzles, unlike most SH games.especially 5&6.Racoon city-meh.revelations,haven't tried it,we'll see about it. . .
