Thoughts on Death Stranding right now?
Oh hey, more weirdness.
Honestly, I don't think this is going to live up to the hype. Hoping I'm pleasantly surprised, but at the moment it all comes across as very iam14andthisisdeep.

Just my opinion but most of the gameplay they showcased looks really dull. Slowly walking around, painstakingly setting up ladders, and what I assume is random encounter stealth elements? Thats going to get old fast.

I have to agree. I was wondering why there was no gameplay trailer before, I guess now we know why.
Sadly, after the laughably terrible plot of MGSV, I don't have high hopes for the narrative either. Kojima has a few cool ideas, but desperetly needs an editor.

The trailer looks really cool, and I'm a big fan of Kojima's other work, but I'm done with the hype train for new games. I'll give it a while, wait for other people to review / play it a bit, and probably eventually pick it up on sale (assuming it does come to PC like the rumors suggest).

Still looks just as insane and awesome as when it was first shown. Its great to see Kojima finally getting to work on something that's not part of the MGS series (the last time I think was Zone of Enders 1 and 2 in 2001/2003).

The trailer looks freaking awesome. I don't own a console anymore so the only way I'll be able to play it is on PC. Playstation owners I'm sure will be happy as hell though.

New trailer doesn't seem to be getting too many views compared to the last (so more people obviously need to be made aware) and I want to see SG folk's thoughts and/or theories on the game. Maybe this isn't enough to justify a thread but oh well.
if ever it comes to PC I promise to do the first giveaway hereHere's a small L2+ giveaway for consolation: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/cutYI/kids
Personally this will probably end up being my first Kojima game and I'm really looking forward to it. :) The concept is intriguing, the music seems superb, all the characters look interesting and memorable (I love the casting choices, they definitely add a lot to that)--I'm getting the feeling that Kojima games are usually very character-driven which has me excited too--the gameplay looks diverse, oh and did I mention the music? Not just the track they used for this trailer, but the one used for the previous stuck out for me just as much. They've already added to and helped set such a strong atmosphere and tone.
I especially loved 5:20-6:06 of the trailer, other than the track and awesome cuts/character intros, there's something about showing just about all your characters crying like that, it's very... bold, and it makes me excited for the depth it's teasing. Are Kojima games usually sad...?
Finally the idea of multiple different factions desperately warring over differing ideologies while humanity is on it's last legs, in a desperately dreary post-(or current...?)apocalyptic, open-world setting is just by default awesome to me. It's nothing new, but I also can't think of too many examples of it actually being executed on well.
Oh and the idea of a visionary like Kojima getting such creative freedom/free rein like this has me excited. I can't recall too many situations like this, where a legendary developer (who had previously mostly just worked on large franchises?) got mistreated and fired, and who had such huge and widespread public support and acclaim that another studio so instantly snatched him up and offered him complete freedom to produce a new, original project. Can't help thinking that this'll be one of those few mainstream games that will serve well as a reminder that video games are as creative and great an art form as any.
AND DID I MENTION MADS MIKKELSEN?
